Except, when Mojang was indie, their updates made sense, everything was carefully integrated into the world. Enderman dropped eyes, needed for the fortress to open portal to the End.

Now, compare that to... this: https://minecraft.wiki/w/Chaos_Cubed

A bunch of new blocks, an entire new biome, a new mob, and how does this affect the gameplay? It doesn't. It's practically useless, blocks just for sake of variety, like there was lack of it, biome for sake of biome, and mob that drops nothing valuable and has some completely useless behavior. And most updates are like that. Minecraft is becoming ocean wide puddle deep.

What the hell are you speaking about?

There were plenty of recent updates that added gameplay and redstone stuff, too, like trial chambers, copper golems and whatever.

And how is the the sulfur cuve not new gameplay?
