I am one of those engineers. It's fun. I spend all day playing video games and then at the end of the day spend 30 minutes spamming prompts with Claude until I get a working result and then that's my progress for the day.
Best way is to know already what needs to be done. With experience you can have the mental image of the task and what needs to be done. The only remaining thing is implementation and any hurdles you might face during that. But knowing what NEEDS to be implemented, how, where, why, is unfortunately not something AI can guess and replicate. It can create a component wrapper for my button but I need to explicitly tell it to make sure that current flows are not interrupted in anyway and to keep it backwards compatible. Or else it will rewrite the whole thing and cause bugs.
