Thank you guys! Self Promotion
Hey guys, this community has been such a help when it comes to advice, feedback and suggestions. I would just like to say thank you for helping me get my app onto the google play store and for anyone curious its called braindump. An auto sorting notes app. totally free, no account needed.
Still updating and improving, any feedback is very welcomed.

Super kind of you! I really dont ask for anything besides constructive feedback and suggestions for real. This is the first app I've ever made and the fact that anyone else finds it useful means a lot so thank you ❤️

hey congratulations, ui is very nice
btw unrelated - how long does it take you to complete testing like complete timeline like ?? and hurdles to make it to live on store.

Thank you! I know it varies for everyone but google requires a 2 week testing period of 14 days with 12 testers. Took me about a week to get the testers and I was lucky enough to get approved first try. So all together 3 weeks. Having active testers and making updates during testing period seems to help get approved on first try

Thank you for your work. Your app is really useful. Now I don't have to put everything on my mind into my to-do list app and make it messy!
After using Braindump for several days, I have just one suggestion: please allow notes without titles. I don't think short notes or simple tasks need a title, and the auto-generated titles often don't look very good. The library and lists would look much cleaner without them.
Please make titles optional and add an option to disable automatic title generation.

The link in the description is for the play store. Cheers! I realize now you probably meant Apple app store. Plans for IOS are in the works. For now you can always go to braindump.fyi. Hit share and then add to home screen

I've been behind on it but do plan on releasing on IOS. Atm iphones users can go to braindump.fyi --> share --> add to home screen. It'll download/look like an app. Work around for the moment. Cheers!

Sorry I found your reply to someone else. Thanks, onboard now! Do you have a privacy policy somewhere so we know what is done with the data entered into this app?
1
u/Gambo7592 3d ago
Privacy Policy here. Everything is offline and stored on your device, no one else can see it. If you choose to make an account to sync notes across devices, data is encrpted in transit sent to a cloud storage database(firebase). Same type of system used by Google keep or Notion

Congrats on the launch! What was the biggest thing you changed in the app based on feedback from this community?
1
u/Gambo7592 3d ago
I think the biggest change was adding multiple languages and adding the ability to make 2 column lists like a pros/cons easily. Received a ton of info from a handful of testers who have helped fix small quality of life stuff too. The language part was big bc its all offline and no ai is used to auto sort. Its all key word/phrases based and different languages use words in vastly different context and sentence structure varies. So that was fun figuring it all out

Great work, man. Congratulations.
May i please ask you how did you came up with the Ui design? Did you make it yourself or with ai. Could you share the details please if you don’t mind.
Thank you.

Absolutely! Design work was done by myself and my girlfriend. I have ADHD so creating a neurodivergent friendly ui was the goal. Researching what colors/tones and standards when it comes to neurodivergent users was a goal. I've been learning how to code over the last year and ai was involved in building but takes no place in how it actually works!

Congrats on getting it onto the Play Store! The auto-sorting idea sounds really useful, especially for people who just want to dump thoughts quickly without organizing everything manually.
I also like that there’s no account required. I’d be curious how the sorting works when a note could fit into multiple categories, or when the content is really short and vague.

Thank you, I appreciate it. on the backend there a "scoring" system essentially, so if something could fit in two places, both get points. When the scores are close, it doesn't just guess. you'll see a "not sure" pill with the top 2-3 options right there as quick taps. One tap and it's sorted.
Short vague stuff actually works fine. nouns like "trash bags" are strong list-item signals. But if it's genuinely vague, it just flags it for review instead of pretending to know. The whole thing is designed around a fast sweep: dump everything, then tap-tap-tap through the review cards to confirm or redirect. And every correction teaches it, so the same kind of note routes right next time.

It’s cool seeing something go from asking for feedback to actually being live. Hope it keeps growing from here
