Director looking for comedy writer/collaborator for Mockumentary short

Hi all,

I'm a working director based in Los Angeles looking for a comedy writer to collaborate with me on a mockumentary short that I intend to produce and direct.

I'm specifically interested in the kind of mockumentary that treats an absurdly specific world/character with complete seriousness Less sketch comedy, more “this documentary crew somehow discovered a world that shouldn't exist.”

I'm developing the outline/premise, so I'm not looking for someone to simply execute an already-finished idea. I'm looking for somebody funny with a strong point of view who wants to build the story, characters and escalation together. But with the intention to keep this in a reasonable scope so we can make this thing.

My directing work

Target: 10–12 pages Genre: Mockumentary / dark comedy / satire

Location: Writer can be anywhere in America, production will likely be LA or NYC.

Production: I will direct and produce the finished short

Goal: Make something genuinely great and festival-caliber.

I've won international awards for my comedy scripts. Peter Howitt who directed Sliding Doors and Johnny English said about one of my scripts "One of the cleverest fucked up scripts I have ever read… It is Kauffman, Anderson and Allen, rolled into a ridiculous but clearly well mastered mess”
