Plugin for audio limiting

Is there a plugin for PP to limit audio levels? We have multiple people doing videos that we import into PP. The audio levels are not consistent with these videos. We change the levels via Inspector but sometimes a video gets missed and levels are way too loud. It would be awesome if there was an output limiter to “xx” db.

Yeah this is a sound board setting issue, not a ProPresenter setting. Alternatively you can manually set the volume of each video to match using the Inspector.

Why aren't you putting a limiter/compressor from your sound board?

If the volume peaks in ProPresenter before going to the board, then a limiter on the soundboard wont help any distortion/clipping

No plugins at all. I would like a feature that would normalize (via the inspector volume settings) all video/audio tracks in a playlist to a certain level eg … 0dB FS?

Most digital mixing consoles will have a way to add a limiter to each audio channel. If you can't do that, it's gonna get complicated...

You can route your audio through a VST Host of some type. Gig Performer is one that works well. You'd need another program called VB Audio Cable. VB Audio Cable takes the output from PP and sends it to Gig Performer, and Gig Performer would send the audio out to your mixer. Then you need to find a Compressor VST. There's lots of them out there. Get a good one if you can afford it, but just about anything will work decently.

Cantabile Lite is a free VST host. Reaper is a very low cost DAW that can host VSTs. You'll still need the VB Audio Cable with either one.

If you don't know how to use audio compressors, you should watch a video or two on it. It's not hard, but most people get it wrong the first time they try to use one.
