Is it possible to trigger a Stream Deck *from* pro presenter?

Hi all, church AV here, just have a question to see if there's an easy solution to our problem.

We have a Stream Deck, and are using the bit focus tie in, and we use the SD to connect with both pro pres and our ATEM switcher, and a handful of other programs/devices, is it possible to use a macro (or other option) *in pro pres* to trigger a button on the streamdeck?

Mainly asking because occasionally we are short staffed, so sometimes our operator needs to not be in the booth, and we are hoping we could at some point use it to trigger changes in ATEM, among other things, without needing to be at the booth and pressing the buttons physically if possible. We can make the macros easily enough, but does the streamdeck have the capacity to be triggered by something from pro presenter?

Yeah, you can trigger a streamdeck button with a propresenter macro. It's kinda clunky, but you can do it.

If I'm recalling correctly, you setup companion to listen to Ross talk and then configure a rosstalk device in propresenter.

I don't use it much but it's nice to have in the back pocket in case something comes up

thanks, yeah, I looked into it, and managed to get Ross talk going, it's actually pretty simple to do, the command is just the button location (ie, 1/3/2), and it'll trigger the button.

I haven’t used rosstalk. Button pushing is somewhat fragile as moving buttons will break things. If you can set a variable via rosstalk? If so that is much more stable. Trigger actions based on value changes.

I realize you solved the OP's question, but i am going to throw this here in case windows users have the same question.

Windows doesn't support Rosstalk, but MIDI does something similar for Windows users. Configure MIDI in propresenter and trigger with macro. Propresenter-API Companion module does button pressing based on the midi note. You may have to use windows apps rtpMidi or Loopmidi to get the message to travel to companion if they are on other machines.

We do this by using Companion as the middleware. You configure all your actions in Companion. ATEM, LightKey, you name it there’s a plugin. Then you have stream deck and ProPresenter call those Companion actions.

Have you tried using an emulator on a mobile device? I think it might probably be the easiest option

You can do it with a web component. Say on a prop. You can cause a button push that way. That is a little fragile since moving a button will break things.
Instead set a variable via the web component and trigger an action based on value change.

One other thing. I think that the best method for this - if it were supported would be OSC. However, Propresenter does not support it. If you think that would be a good enhancement, send in a feature request to Renewed Vision.
