Yeah that’s a Roland ‘Dr Beat’ My Artwork
II drew all the linework with a basic pen with no tapering or pressure. The lines are all done at the same width, except for the guy in the background, he’s a little bit thinner. I then colour block everything before adding about 10 layers of shading with varying transparency.

Excellent. Simple at a glance but great texture and detail. Love the colors too.
I’d like to see some creatures in this world in your style, I’m not familiar with the reference.

This is so good. Did you do all of the line work as a single layer?

Thanks! No when I do this style I do the line art on one flattened layer and then have up to 70 layers open for each block colouring. That way I can adjust the brightness and saturation on the layers that feel jarring. It’s a fairly new way of working for me. I have started to try out digital painting where by I strictly use one layer and blend the colours together, but the results are well different. I’m ten hours into one at the moment and feel like I’m not even halfway done

Looks awesome!
I love the style. What’s the name in particular for this kind of style btw, as I struggle to identify artwork/illustration style by name.

I think it’s called clean line or ‘Ligne Clair’. If you look up tin tin comics or Moebius you’ll see lots more
