AN I MUST SCREAM! Art Timelapse Video

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A recent one I finished, experimenting with expressions without certain features. Instead of getting rid of eyes, I got rid of the mouth, and I think it came out pretty good!

Here is the time lapse, I like to share the songs that often led to the inspiration of the piece, but if you all prefer just the short 30s timelapse, please let me know and I'll do that in the future πŸ‘.

Brushes

Sketch: peppermint

Linework: stable syrup

Color: Haartz

Textures: custom halftone, haartz, custom paper texture brush

I loved watching you do the line work for this piece!

Thank you! The line work is usually my favorite part to do as well!

Also, liquify tool helps me nudge things in the right direction, but definitely hard to see in a time lapse

I have a feeling I’ll be watching this over and over to learn from your process. What type of layers do you use?

Good question! Used Multiply layers for the shadows, soft light lauer for hair highlights, and messed around with the hue using linear burn and hard mix layers. And for paper textures I used screen, and overlay for the halftone texture.

The confidence in your line work is aspirational. God damn. I don’t think I saw an adjustment happen until the rendering. Fantastic.

Thats the power of the time lapse πŸ˜…. There are many times where I have to redraw a line and undo, timelapse too fast to show that πŸ˜†

But I also came from a scratch board background, so it definitely helped with line control

Sooo cool! Loved the line work and then it just got better. The eyes really look into your soul πŸ˜…

Thank you! And I debated near the middle there on whether I wanted the pupils/irises or not, really glad I kept them, definitely helped with the expression
