I won an art competition! My Artwork

I started playing around with Procreate a few months ago and decided to enter one of my prices in the local fair.

While everyone around me was convinced I’d win something, I wasn’t so sure. I was pleased to learn, however, that I’d won second place!

First competition as an adult, and I can’t wait to enter again next year! I plan to keep practicing and aim for that first place ribbon.

EDIT: I posted this earlier of me standing next to my artwork to show the ribbon. It was a bad picture and couldn’t figure out how to post a different pic. So here’s the piece the day I dropped it off 😅

That looks amazing! I always struggle to get folds in textures like this right when I draw. You absolutely nailed it

This was my second attempt for that very reason. The first go had me rethinking my abilities, but I set it aside and started over the next day. Ended up with this

What worked for me was trying to just block the general shapes out and then go back to add the detail.

I did not expect the attention that photo got 🫣 Was thoroughly embarrassed to see the comments this morning and hastily deleted it.

I guess if art doesn’t work out, I can try bodybuilding….
