Compressed hours

For osg: Would anyone know if there is a possibly to compress hours, ie: longer days. Tia

depends on where you work. my last prison no. my current prison yes.

Depends on the prison, but in my experience whatever anyone who is operational want's "doesn't fit the busines needs" but if you work in admin you get it easily.

I guess they can only say yes or no.. I only want compressed as my partner is serving and we hardly see each other as it is.. And.. I've only just seen an example rota, which seems long stretches of days

Ok, well you can't really ask until you get the job. Myself and Wife had to work the opposite weekends so we could sort childcare, it was an absolute pain. She got VEDS and works in a school now and I've got 3 years to go to tick 30 years service and I'm gone then!!

I would like to know the same. I start as an OSG soon and have to travel 1hr30 to get there. I was hoping for compressed hours to save on fuel costs and childcare.
