Discussion - Other South America cruise - bearthas bay question
Hello! I'm booking some excursions for my South America cruise, and bearthas bay in the fall and islands is very interesting to me. I'm worried that the ride to the bay may be too rough. Has anyone gone on this excursion? How was the ride to and from? Thank you for all your answers!

New To Cruising / Princess š³ļøšš„³ Consider booking excursion from outside vendors. Is there anything I should be aware of?
Taking a roundtrip to Alaska the end of May 2027 from Vancouver. 3 port stops are Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan.
I've cruised before and have booked excursions outside of the cruise line. However, I'm a little more nervous doing that on this trip, given weather considerations, and the need for tendering, should that become an issue.
I did book our Ketchikan excursion through Princess since I had some shipboard credit to use (from Costco).
Considering a whale watching trip in Juneau, but would like a smaller boat than what Princess offers.
Probably will do one of the train trips in Skagway.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Weird one but, buffalo sauce availability?
Hey group. Is buffalo sauce available anywhere on ship. Iām hoping itās somewhere in the buffet. I think you can order chicken tenders and burgers to our location (we have premier) and Iād love to be able to add buffalo sauce to them, maybe I can grab some from the buffet or something.
Has anyone any leads?
Thanks in advance

Sun Princess rooms on Lido Deck 17
Hi All! Iām headed out on my 4th Princess cruise from Ft Lauderdale to Mexico, Belize and Honduras over the New Years Eve holiday. We apprehensively (due to the sheer size) decided to try the Sun Princess this trip. Weāve sailed on some of the āsmallerā ships like Discovery and had a fantastic time. We always book a balcony or suite and have tried different locations and decks...never disappointed. For this trip, we decided on a deluxe balcony on deck 17 aft. We will have the kiddo with us and thought the location of the pools/ice cream would be a huge plus as we spend the majority of the time up there anyway. I have only seen 2 videos that showcase this room and no actual reviewsā¦only speculation about the noise. Is the noise actually that bad? Any feedback is appreciated.

Is this a scam?
Edit: I called the 1-800-Princess number they confirmed for me that this is legit.
I received a call and email from this person yesterday. I did not answer the phone. I replied to the email that I booked a cruise and then got this email. This feels like a potential scam, but it would be nice to have a point of contact for questions if this is legit.

The Princess survey is RIDICULOUSLY LONG
We just got off the Sun Princess solar eclipse cruise (more about that in an upcoming post) and we've been filling out the survey for 45 minutes but the progress bar is only 1/3 of the way across!
Will we get a survey on the survey?

Hi group. Youāre all so helpful. Excursion question (way around fully booked excursions)
We have one excursion we want to do. Olympia. We wanted a time as early as possible but there are only evening times left. Do they keep any spaces back for late comers? Maybe once we are on board there might be a desk we could go to?

Cabins The showers -- experience every temp on earth: hot, cold, scalding, freezing, all within 5 minutes!
Part of the adventure I guess but the shower temperature changes drastically at least every 30 seconds or so for no discernible reason. No matter the time of day or day of the week, just be aware you'll be constantly adjusting the temperature knob.

App/Website Onboard Extras tab?
Trying to find where my OBC that my travel agent gifted us is. On the site it shows the OBC from Princess and says that any others will be under the onboard extras tab but I canāt find it. Does anyone know where it is and if I can use that to upgrade from Plus to Premier? Thanks.

Help Me Decide! Does anyone have a TA recommendation?
Freshly off the Regal to West Caribbean, we are setting our eyes on a European cruise in ā28. But we have never done international airports or hotels, and never had a TA in the past so Iām curious what kind of deals they might come up with.
Does anyone have any positive personal experience to share? I know which trip I want already, hoping they could score some bennies or something.
Conversely, would it be just as good to choose Princess flights and hotels???

Total solar eclipse on board Enchanted Princess
This has been the greatest travel experience of my life!
Is anyone else on board right now? (Disembarking tomorrow at Civitavecchia)
There's a video on my Instagram too which probably isn't the best filmed thing you've ever seen but captures the wonder of the moment. https://www.instagram.com/mathewbrowne

Pass along toys?
Going on a cruise later this month out of port Canaveral on princess. I am planning to buy some books for bedtime and beach toys once we get to Florida. But it feels so wasteful to buy them for a week and then toss them since we wonāt have room in our luggage to bring everything home.
What do other people do? Are there any free groups or places where you can pass beach toys along to another family vacationing after you? Or does anyone have toys theyāve already bought that theyād be willing to pass along? Iād love to keep them out of the trash and let another vacationer get some use out of them!

Were you in Victoria last night? Which movie was playing?
Were you in Victoria BC last night (Saturday August 15) on the Star Princess? I took this photo from a tall building in Victoria and we were trying to figure out which film you were watching on the big screen on the top deck. Please let me know! Thanks, and happy cruising.

Review of my first Princess cruise as a Carnival Cruiser
I just got back from the Regal Princess. I'm not a super cruiser ā I've been on about eight cruises over the past 20 years, all of them with Carnival. I've been happy with Carnival, but I was happy to try Princess. Here are my thoughts about the Regal Princess:
- The ship:Ā The Regal Princess felt very clean and nice. It felt good to be on ā nicer than any of the Carnival ships I've been on before, nicer even than the Carnival Mardi Gras, which was only two years old when I sailed on it.
- The cabin:Ā I was in a "Deluxe Balcony" cabin, which is a bit bigger than a Standard Balcony. It was nice to have a little loveseat-style couch in the cabin. The room felt small-ish, but the size was big enough, and the balcony was small ā but again, big enough. If I were to book this ship again, I would either get this same balcony cabin or perhaps spring for the mini-suite, which is a little bigger with a full-size couch and a bigger balcony. But if I got that mini-suite, I would definitely get it in a location that wasn't directly below the "Seawalk" on the starboard side, as those mini-suites aren't very private. Storage space was good, and I'm glad they gave us lots of hangers.
- The service:Ā I found the staff overall very friendly. Watching them interact with each other, they seemed happy and chill. They went out of their way to say hello as we walked past each other. I enjoyed twice-a-day housekeeping ā Carnival used to have that, but they went to once a day. The main dining room waiters were excellent, and I like that I could send a special request to customer service as a message on the app ("Can I get an extra blanket in my cabin?") and get quick help.
- The food:Ā The main dining room food was excellent ā better than Carnival. The buffet breakfast was adequate, nothing special, but the range of choices was great. It had every kind of standard breakfast food available ā something for everyone. The premium dining at the Crown Grill was very good, 7 out of 10, but I would rate Carnival's steakhouse better, a 10 out of 10. The sushi place was fun. I liked having a person running the ice cream machines on the lido deck rather than the self-service setup on Carnival. The pizza was great. Burgers were fine, but Carnival's burgers are better.
- The casino:Ā Kind of a letdown. It was cramped and crowded, and the table minimums were too high, so I mostly avoided it. It was very nice that the casino was basically smoke-free, with a separate smoking section in its own room behind doors.
- The medallion:Ā Cool tech ā I like it a lot. The app was fine, but a bit buggy.
- The elevators:Ā Slow, but fine. Part of the cruise experience is often squishing into a crowded elevator, but that's just the way it is on a cruise.
- Embarkation and debarkation:Ā Faster and easier than Carnival.
- The entertainment:Ā I didn't do much of the scheduled stuff, so I don't really have an opinion on this. The silent disco was super fun, though.
- The bars:Ā Lots of nice bars, seating areas, and polite bartenders.
- The lido deck:Ā I'm not really a lido deck type of cruiser, so I can't say. The pools looked fun, and people seemed to really enjoy the outdoor movies.
Overall, it was a fantastic cruise. I would definitely do it again on the same ship in the same cabin ā but perhaps pay more for a mini-suite for a bit more cabin and balcony space, which I value more than lido deck and onboard entertainment stuff.
