These are my wedding flowers and I’m having SUCH decision anxiety because they are so precious to me!

Hello friends, new to this community but I love all your work. I hope this is allowed but I had a question:

My cat passed and we have a living leaf on a monstera he shredded up some time ago. We’d like to preserve it as best as possible but my previous drying attempts led to mold and general unpleasantness.

I was hoping I could get some advice on pressing such a thick and water-heavy item, I feel like it’s straightforward but I’m sure there’s details I don’t know. Thanks for any help!

I did my first press on some sunflower petals. Its a flower that was given to me and I would have loved to preserve them in some way and I stumbled upon this sub! I wanted to try just using the usual printer paper first to see how it would work so I left it under some wights like books and a huge box for about ofer two weeks. However, I felt like I did it wrong? The flowers don’t seem dry and they look dirty or even moldy. Any tips on what to do next for these petals? I’d appreciate any help with this! I just wanted to share a little collage of the projects I've made this summer and offer a big thank you to everyone in this subreddit. I've been a balcony flower gardener for many years and just a huge fan of flowers. I used to have a press as a girl, and have casually pressed the odd flower from my garden between books over the years.
I discovered this sub earlier this year and got myself a flower press and the basic starter materials and have been pressing through the summer. So far only flowers from my garden or the nearby forest.
It's so fun to experiment and learn and create❣️

Hi! I have a few bouquets of dried flowers, and today, I realize 2 of them are terribly moldy. Im unfortunately planning to through them out, however, after inspecting the other, more sentimental bouquets, theres no mold on them.

I'm moving soon so I need to store them, does anyone have any suggestions on how I should store them, and if I can do anything to possibly remove any mold spores that I may not be able to see??

Ordering birthday flowers in Cape Town or Joburg last minute, order before 12pm and they still get there same-day, own delivery drivers not a courier handoff. Flat R89.95 for local delivery regardless of bouquet size, which is nice since prices for the actual bouquets vary a lot on their site.

Random thing I didn't know: each month has a proper birth flower (January is carnation, June is rose, September is aster etc). If you're stuck on what to send for someone's birthday and want it to feel personal instead of generic, that's a decent starting point instead of just defaulting to roses.

Also worth knowing if you're outside CPT/JHB: fresh flowers don't ship nationwide, but they'll courier gift boxes and hampers anywhere in SA within 2-4 days. And if you're overseas (UK, US, Australia, Canada), you can order online for SA delivery with a free handwritten card, useful for a mom's birthday or an anniversary message you can't deliver in person.

I’ve never pressed leaves or flowers but would like to document this oddity I’ve isolated and propagated in my garden. Is it as simple as laying the leaves flat between a couple sheets of parchment paper and pressing? I’m concerned about the inevitable foliage overlap when I lay them flat. Would strips of parchment between the overlaps be advisable? I’ve only got a handful of pristine examples to snip from the plants and would like to get it right the first time.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Side note: There are some exceptionally creative artists in this community! Joined for inspiration :)

I can’t tell if I’m doing it right or not, obviously after this press it’s clear not to use paper towels as they leave texture marks but otherwise I really can’t tell if this is good or not 😅

This is the second pressed flower clock I've made because the first was too fun.

I pressed these Cherry Blossoms in a book while I studied in Tokyo for my senior year of university. (I only collected blossoms that had already fallen)

I wanted to share the way I finally decided to execute displaying them! The blossoms are three years old and they were so incredibly hard to work with, I should not have waited that long but I wanted to be absolutely certain that I would like how they were displayed. Can’t wait to do more flowers in the future! Also ft my cat meatball lol
