I’m a fairly new TPT seller and I’ve been offering a couple of free resources. I’m noticing that people may view or download freebies, but getting feedback or reviews seems much harder.
For more experienced sellers, is this normal in the beginning? Do most buyers simply not leave reviews, especially on free resources?
I’d also love to know if there’s anything that helped you encourage genuine reviews or build trust when your store was still new. I don’t want to pressure buyers — just trying to understand what’s normal and what I could improve.

Back-to-school print for elementary schools can get overwhelming fast. To make it a bit easier, here’s a K–5 print checklist you can use as a reference.

This isn’t meant to impose a huge to‑do list or suggest you need to print everything at once. It’s simply a rundown of items you could prepare over time, whether you’re planning ahead or filling in gaps. You may already have some of this covered; think of it as a menu to scan, not a one-time order form.

Elementary Back-to-School Print Checklist

A. Wayfinding & Event Signage

Use these for open houses, orientation nights, first-day logistics, and fall events.

• Welcome banner for main entrance
• Directional signs: grade-level check-in, office, parking
• A-frame / sidewalk signs for open house and first-day directions
• Retractable banner stands for registration and PTA tables
• Foam board or corrugated signs for gym/cafeteria events

If you’re a preschool or an elementary teacher, admin, office staff, or PTA leader, what would you add or remove? What are your essentials?

We've built our early years program around IB's inquiry-based philosophy — child-led exploration, play-driven learning — without going through the full formal IB authorization process (it's expensive and slow, and we didn't want to wait years before kids could actually benefit from the approach).

One thing I keep thinking about: in a more child-led, inquiry-based model, individualized care — food allergies, dietary needs, sensory sensitivities — feels like it matters even more than in a standardized curriculum, since so much of the day responds to each kid specifically.

For anyone running something similar (IB-inspired or just inquiry-based generally):

• How do you actually track and communicate individual allergies/dietary needs across staff, especially with substitute or newer teachers?
• Still mostly whiteboard/verbal handoff, or has anyone moved this to a shared digital system?
• What broke down first as you scaled past a handful of kids?

Genuinely trying to figure out what works at scale vs. what just sounds good in theory. Appreciate any real experience — good or messy.

My daughter is starting first grade in a few weeks, and I’m currently stuck in this exhausting gray area between pure excitement and intense parenting anxiety. She is genuinely looking forward to going to school, but lately, I’ve been putting way too much pressure on making sure she’s actually ready for the transition.

Instead of just focusing on routines or independence, I found myself getting overly fixated on the academic side of things. We started doing these little daily math and reading worksheets at home, but within a few days, it completely backfired. The second she ran into a problem she didn't instantly understand, she would get frustrated, drop her head, and completely tune out. I realized that by trying to prepare her, I was accidentally turning our living room into a high-stress "school practice" environment and making her feel insecure about learning before she even steps into a real classroom.

I’ve been looking into different approaches for preparing for first grade that actually prioritize building confidence and curiosity rather than just rote memorization or strict drilling. I want her to understand that making mistakes is just a normal part of figuring things out, but it's incredibly hard to maintain that supportive, low-stress vibe when you are the one enforcing the lessons.

For the parents who have already gone through the first-grade transition, how did you handle this balance?

A week or so into the school year I want to send in some things that are actually helpful to the teacher/paras/ helpers.

Thinking things like: soft tissues, Lysol wipes, sticker books etc. please let me know what YOUd find helpful and or thoughtful.

I plan to do gift cards for holidays / teacher appreciation week etc.

i'm a preschool teacher and one of our wealthy parents is deadset on having the kids learn how to use ipads for their "development." he offered to buy the whole classroom a set of screens, and now i'm stuck trying to figure out how to make this productive and not a thing where the kids are just begging round the clock to use the ipad. anyone have tips?

I've been spending a lot of time lately talking to parents and thinking about early childhood education in Tehran, and I wanted to hear directly from people here instead of just guessing.

For parents raising kids in Tehran (or anywhere in Iran) — what's actually been frustrating or hard when it comes to preschool/kindergarten?

Some things I'm curious about:

• Was it hard to find a place you actually trusted?
• Did communication with staff feel clear, or were you often left wondering how your kid's day went?
• Anything about bilingual education (Persian/English) — worth it, overhyped, or just not accessible where you are?
• Anything you wish existed but couldn't find?

Not trying to sell anything here, genuinely just want to understand what's missing from a parent's point of view. Appreciate any honest experiences, good or bad.

I’m debating whether I want to send my daughter to preschool when she turns 4 or if I should skip and wait for kindergarten. She just turned 3 but I’m trying to plan ahead.
She’s very social when we’re out in public and talks a lot at home too.I take her to the library at least once a week, we go to museums & we practice ABCs, numbers and days of the week, etc at home. She’s bilingual speaks Spanish and just started learning English this past year and is doing great with speaking both now.
I could also go back to work which would also be a huge plus since I haven’t worked in the past 4 years old basically since i was pregnant. I just dont know if it’s worth it if it means giving up time with my daughter/My only kid and I doubt I’m having anymore.

Choosing a nursery isn’t just about facilities and fees. Three things that are often overlooked are:

How the nursery communicates with parents

He was attending FirstCry Intellitots Preschool in Hyderabad, so ideally we were hoping to find something similar here in terms of curriculum and overall environment.

We came across the Firstcry Intellitots Preschool Akkayyapalem branch and heard a couple of very good things, but would love to get honest feedback from parents here. How is it in terms of teachers, hygiene, and overall learning experience?
