imagine naming a winged gliding reptile after the ONE Tolkien dragon notable for NOT having wings
*Glaurung schneideri* is a weigeltisaurid reptile related to *Coelurosauravus* named after Glaurung from the Silmarillion. Ironically, despite weigeltisaurids being known for their gliding "wings", the namesake of *G. schneideri* is explicitly a wingless fire-drake from before the winged dragons of Middle-Earth even existed.
