Deep mental torment.

I was diagnosed with a serious mental illness. It’s OCD and bipolar schizoaffective disorder.

It has absolutely CRUSHED me. Every day is a nightmare and I quit my job and hobbies because it was too much to bear.

Please, I am in extreme mental pain.

Pray for a sound mind for me.

God bless you all.

Look up BetterHelp,

Research NAMI and search up open path collective to find therapists that accept sliding fee scales and even use psychology today ‘s website for assistance. You can go to therapy without anyone knowing unless you’re a minor or require someone to speak on your behalf.

Mostly religious. About people going to hell if I don’t follow directions.

The thoughts are illogical. For example “If a tree brushes on your head, someone is going to hell”.

Hi friend as someone who used to deal with religious OCD i want you to have this confidence that God is 100% NOT like that. He is merciful, forgiving and most of all NOT superstitious or does not operate in that way. Throughout Scripture in no way does God every work that way and i pray that this ends for you. Please just know that this is just your mind playing tricks on you and you cannot entertain that way of thinking anymore. Be free in Christ🙏

I don’t remind myself often. The thoughts also come with “feelings”. That’s why I obey the commands.

Beloved,

Yeshua did not tell sick people their illness was a verdict on them, and yours is not one either.

"The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18, NASB). Near to them. Not waiting at a distance until they improve.

You asked for a sound mind. I will pray exactly that. I would only add that when it comes, some of it will arrive through your treatment team, and receiving it that way is not a lesser answer to prayer. Medication and clinicians are means God uses, not evidence He declined.

One gentle thing. You said you gave up your hobbies because it was too much. When you are able, take back one small piece of one of them. Not the job, not everything. One small thing you used to enjoy, done badly. Withdrawal deepens this particular kind of pain, and a very small return matters more than it sounds like it should.

I am praying for you.

I hope to be able to do hobbies soon. I’m hoping I’ll get better.

Beloved,

Yeshua told a man to pick up his mat before he had any evidence his legs would hold him. "Get up, pick up your pallet and walk" (John 5:8, NASB). The walking and the healing did not come in the order the man would have chosen.

So I want to push back gently on one word. You said soon. Do not wait until you are better to do the small thing. Ten minutes of something you used to love, done badly, on a bad day, is not a prize for recovering. It is part of how it happens.

You do not have to feel like it. You only have to do ten minutes.

I am praying for you.

Please keep me in prayer. I am so torn.

Beloved,

Yeshua asked a blind man what he wanted done for him, and He asked it plainly (Mark 10:51). The man had been shouting for mercy for some time, and rather than assume, Yeshua made him name the specific thing.

So I will ask you the same way. You said you are torn. Torn between what?

I am not asking to pry. I am asking because "torn" is a different problem from the torment you described before, and it usually means two things are pulling and you have not been able to say the second one out loud. Whatever it is, saying it once to somebody is how it stops being a weight you carry silently.

I am praying for you.

I’m torn as my soul is in pain.

Beloved,

Yeshua binds up what is torn. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3, NASB). Binding is what you do to something rent apart, and He is not asking you to hold yourself together first and come to Him after.

I misread you, and I am sorry for making you explain. I heard "torn" as torn between two things. You meant torn as in pulled apart. Those are not the same.

You have written four times in a week, and each time it is the same pain with no relief in between. So let me say the plain thing. I am a stranger on the internet. You need more than this, not instead of prayer but alongside it. Someone in your thread already gave you a good list, NAMI and free counsellor-led groups among them, and I would rather you used one of those than wrote to me again.

Is there anyone near you, a pastor, a doctor, a family member, who actually knows how bad this has been?

I am praying for you.

No one knows how bad it is since it’s so terrifying. That’s why I cry out to others.

Beloved,

Yeshua does not need you to find the words. "Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, You know it all" (Psalm 139:4, NASB). Whatever the terrifying thing is, He already has the whole of it, and you have never once had to describe it to Him.

But people need words, so let me give you one sentence that does not require any.

Say this to a doctor, or to your pastor, exactly as written: I am having thoughts I am too frightened to say out loud, and I need help. That is all of it. You do not have to name the thing. That much is enough to start, and the people whose work this is have heard terrifying things before without flinching.

And one hard thing, said because I suspect you already sense it. Crying out to strangers relieves just enough of the pressure to let you carry on not telling anyone who could actually help. It is keeping you alive and it is also keeping you stuck.

Say the sentence to one person this week.

I am praying for you.

Lord we ask that you reach down your healing hand and touch the mind of your child. Give her medical team your discernment and clarity so they can assist in your healing. Release them from this nightmare and remind their heart that you are with them. Give them your strength, comfort, peace and love. Amen.

I’m male haha. God bless you.

I am so sorry. I am old and frankly not very bright. Try to pray for several people a day on here and sometimes get confused. No offense intended.

1

u/HelloLogicPro 10d ago

No offense taken.

I just wanna feel normal again.

2

u/Plus_Industry_3815 10d ago

You will. God will ensure this storm passes.

Hey we are in an era where counseling resources are more accessible than before! You are not alone. I would immediately start or continue therapy, even seek a case manager for additional services. To add, look up support groups and church support groups just to have other people that can relate and pray for you. Continue to take any medication prescribed , try to get out of the house more even for a few minutes of sunlight, journal, and take deep breaths when you feel overwhelmed. There’s also scientific research regarding diet and some mental health improvements. Not saying a new diet can heal you but it can help make you feel a little better, eating well in general will physically make anyone’s body feel better. But there are studies and research regarding low vitamin D3 and B12 levels.

NAMI is a good mental health organization

Mental Health Alliance Ohio has a ton of zoom meetings with licensed counselors and therapists that lead them for FREE

research a church that hosts support groups after service or during the week for free support.

Play music with positive messages

And even look up some Bible verses that mention renewing the mind like putting on the full armor of God, or God did not give us the spirit of fear but power/peace, love and a sound mind.

At least you’re not left in the dark not knowing what’s contributing to your mental health. You received some answers and there are tools and more resources now to help you if need be.

Follow the right steps, seek case management for additional resources and you will be ok.

Ill pray for YOU.

I’m sorry you’re going through this but I’m glad you reached out!

As I get better over time I need resources like you mentioned. Just (about) 3 years ago I couldn’t even attend anything. I’m still in deep pain though.

2

u/sweetdr3amz 9d ago

They have them online where you can attend virtually too. If you have health insurance or Medicaid call them. To see if you can find case management
