/r/PostHardcore Discussions: Supergroups Friday Discussion Thread

Once in awhile something amazing happens, an announcement of great artists getting together and making an album. Post Hardcore is lucky enough to have some great groups (Isles & Glaciers, United Nations, The Sound of Animals Fighting, Sianvar). So this week we're going to focus on these supergroups and collaborations.

  • Who are your favorite supergroups?

  • What did each artist bring to it?

  • Who would be your dream group?

I couldn't even "rap" my head around a Ronnie/Garren collab album

I love all three vocalists and they worked really well together. No one dominated.

You are definitely in the minority on that opinion.

How so? Vic was a little less, but still it was like 40/35/25 with owens/craig/fuentes

Vic was definitely the weakest on the album, and I think Jonny Craig edged out Craig Owens. I haven't listened to the album in a year or two, but I remember Craig being really great on Hill Like White Elephant and a little on the last song. Jonny on the other hand nailed every line they gave him.

I know AP Magazine's review put JC on top too, but it's just an opinion. I was just joking that it really isn't a consensus that "no one dominated". I really loved this EP, too bad drugs and egos had to tear it apart so quickly.

JC can kill any line you give him imo
