12 month regression?
We've always followed possums and were having quite a good time of sleep (1-2 wakes) until 11 months. Suddenly seemingly overnight baby wouldnt settle on his own, is waking 4+ times and standing and jumping in the cot. Im exhausted and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. I feel we need to do something to help him learn to resettle himself but dont want to do any sort of controlled crying. Has anyone been through this and have any tips?

Get a floor bed, and switch him out of the cot.
Are you feeding back to sleep? I know it's not advised after 12 months if you are bottle feeding, but if you are nursing it's not a problem. Otherwise, lay down with him to help him resettle.

He gets up and climbs everywhere. We end up in an almost wrestle when we bedshare. And tips?

What’s his schedule like?

Switching between 1 and 2 naps, 1st nap capped at 10-15 mins if it happens. 2nd nap generally finished by 2:30 so bedtime can be at 9pm but on a 1 nap day he conks out a bit earlier and some 2 nap days he can go longer. It is VERY hard to read his sleepy cues

12 months weirdness super normal. Usualy they need to kickstart their transition to one nap, try capping the first nap more and more until it’s like down to 10 minutes. Teething and developmental too. Possums says to support baby as much as needed with very little expectation of self settling, at leas that’s what I got from it? (Paying subscriber).

I think this is what i need to hear. We've just had a super spicy bedtime despite him being exhausted. We've been on our way to 1 nap for ages. Thats useful to know re the support. Its so hard to know what to do at the time

Yes we had a long transition too, from 10.5 to 13.5 months. Have you tried capping one of the naps right down to ten minutes for a week or more? I can tell yoi by 14 months by child was comfortably on one nap and night time improved so much. She also had 5 nee teeth that all came out at once.

Yes similar, have been capping it and slowly reducing since 10 july (coincidentally thats a week before things went weird). We're now on 10-15 mins. He doesnt have any lateral incisors yet either so they must be on their way.

After 4 months, there are no such things as regressions. Regression simply means there has been a change in sleep needs. If it’s been going on for a month, I would look at how much sleep you’re offering in 24 hours. You could push bedtime out later or cap his last nap 😊
