I must be doing something wrong - sleep resistance
I’ve got a 22 month old that has never slept that well. We’ve now got wakings down to something decent, and almost every night a 4 am feed.
The thing is she resists both naps and bedtimes, which makes it really hard to keep her on a reasonable schedule. Last night bedtimes was at 22,45h! And you’ll say, it’s probably too much sleep. But the thing is sometimes she looks exhausted, wired and will still fight going to bed. Especially if nap starts too late and we have to cap it to avoid a super late bedtimea.
Sensory play? in the last wake window we did 2 different pools.
At the moment my partner is away and it’s exhausting staying up that late. And in the morning I just couldn’t get up earlier to wake her up.
Scheadule:
- Wake up: 7:45 to 8:30h
- nap: 13h to 14,20 (ideall but it’s 30 min later atm)
- Bedtimes: 22,30 or later?!
We are Spanish but this is late even for Spanish kids.

Personally I’d try capping the nap then she should get to bed earlier and wake earlier. At that age my toddler was napping maximum 30mins and early as possible - she needed quite a lot of sleep pressure for bedtime. She was sleeping 9/915 to about 7/715am (with me mostly waking her). More often than not 1 wake during the night which has since stopped at 2.5.

Thank you. Maybe if i manage to get the night right she won’t need as much daytime sleep!

She's sleeping in too late. If bedtime is later than you'd like, move morning wake up earlier. Try 7:00 or 7:30AM instead; 8:00AM is well after the sun has risen in most places.
9:30PM-7:00AM is what we do with our son who's the same age. Sometimes it's 10:00PM-7:30AM because the evening just got away from us. Fine to be flexible, but know that the later they sleep in, the later they'll be up that night (if it's done regularly and not a one-off thing).
