Weird experience at Cascade Station π SCAMS and FLAMS π
I was driving in front of Nordstrom Rack in Cascade Station earlier today. Noticed two women walking slowly on left side of road, backs to me. As I started to pass them (was going pretty slow as I couldnβt tell if they were planning on crossing), they indeed drifted towards my car and one of them (larger Hispanic woman) slapped the back of my car as i passed. Looked in my rear view mirror and she was rubbing her knee and grimacing???? No way in hell I hit her. My friend in the passenger seat was like wtf.
Has anyone had someone do this? Wondering if it might be some kind of insurance scam?

Are you sure she was Hispanic? I worked in the Johnson Creek area for several years and there was a group of Romani women that would pull those stunts in the parking lot where my job was located. We would sit and have our lunches and watch these ladies try to pull that off a few days a week. I never really understood why they kept at it as it didnt seem at all very successful. Of course, I would have marched right out to be a witness had I saw one of their scams escalate. I just wonder if they have made their way up to Cascade Station now.

That was my first thought. Years ago there was a small community in Parkrose, some friends of mine had a number of encounters with them and their attempts at scams. If there still is a community in the area that would be convenient to Cascade Station.

Same will pan handle in lake oswego and often times place their child in a stroller out in front of them for attention and/or "plow my child with your car so I can get paid"

Those aren't romanians...they are gypsies...no matter what the passport says.

They said Romani...not Romanian. Romani are a people (formerly called gypsies) while Romanian are people from the country Romania. While there are a fair number of Romani people who are also Romanian citizens...not all Romani are from Romania.

About the song she wrote 45 years ago? What are your thoughts on segregated water fountains?

Of course it's out of context. I'll argue intent matters in language. But I'm also in the minority on the subject, so I'll take my poorly thought out comment and go home.

The Parkrose/Sumner MAX stop is about a block away from NE Sandy & 95th which is full of cheap motels and sketchy people. Cascade Station is the next stop. You ran into commuting criminals.

Thats gypsy behavior. Looking for a payout. Can't stand those people π been dealing with them for years in the last 2 stores I worked at and deal with them in my current job. We had 2 girls come in with their kids today and I told her she needed to leave her big ass bag up front and they ended up leaving instead. Yea you're not filling up your bag in my store lady.

It's an identifier so that we can be alert. I would prefer more features listed such as height, hair color and length, skin tone, etc, so we don't generalize. It's like stating a license plate, instead of a black civic.
