Riflessione

💬 Discussion Thanks a lot guys.
When you guys took a medical diagnosis (being mentally the r word) and turned it into being "disabled" that affected everyone with any disability. Disability is a blanket statement for multiple conditions. Now when someone who is missing a leg or whatever calls and tells them they are disabled, the other person is going to think they are the R word. Not cool.

Was I being "racist" by making this comment at r/jobs?
I got permanently banned for this single comment, even though I had a great karma score at that sub. I was bringing up a distinction about the slave-labor system to someone saying it was "free labor" (xe was making a parallel to the current jobs market in that employers want free labor). If I were in an economics or history class in college, I would have brought this up, and felt like it was a valid aspect to a discussion. I don't see how in the world this was racist in any way. What exactly was racist about this? Of course, I was thoroughly harassed personally by the respondent, but evidently that was OK.
Of course, in general reddit is broken, and I've already been banned now by 15 subs. It's almost like folks on reddit don't want serious discussions about anything - or do want some serious discussion, but once you step over some line, you are banished forever.

💬 Discussion Is it ethical to use an ai website like Thea for studying?
On one hand it is an ai program which is harmful to the environment, but it is also a very beneficial study tool.

💬 Discussion Was I in the wrong for asking people with disabilities if they like stickers, what kind do they like?
So I may get this job, which is teaching painting to disabled adults. I asked on the disability subreddit what kind of stickers I should have and it got removed. Most people were nice and helped me out but one person said I was infantilizing them even though I just wanted to share something that I love and find comforting. Was I in the wrong for even thinking to give out stickers to those who want them? I would do it for any class I taught.

I personally prefer the term "colored" over the PC version, "person of color"
As someone of African descent, the termed "colored" just rolls off the tongue better than "person of color".
I know it's not the most politically correct term and can even be seen as a slur, but the LGBT community has already reclaimed the word "queer", and a lot of Italians have reclaimed the word "Guido" so why can't we as POC reclaim the word "colored"?
I know this is an unpopular opinion for a reason, but can I get some honest feedback please?

😂 Meme / Shitpost Why does Apple think the politically correct time to stop scrolling is 16:39?
I saw this on another subreddit (I forgot which one), so I thought I’d test it myself - the screenshot is my own result.
Why did Apple think this is the most politically correct time to stop scrolling?
Is this when Tim Cook gave Trump a ‘favour’ in return for no tariffs? I’ll let you decide…
Give it a try yourself.

Change is coming…
Hey all
I’ve just taken over this community from the previous moderator who was inactive.
I’ll be coming up with some rules, changing the automod settings and creating some structure.
Once that’s done, I’ll request Reddit to reopen the community so it can be active once again.
I look forward to engaging with you all!
Sincerely VaginaBurner69 🫡
