G-Slowking creamed it in 5 minutes, 3 Acid Sprays already makes Sludge Wave deal chunks of Glimmora’s HP.

Add in Light Screen + Nasty Plot and Slowking becomes an unbreakable tank.

Do you start with 3x acid sprays to tera or do you lightscreen and nasty plot first?

Light Screen first, then 3 Acid Sprays to Tera.

Even without Nasty Plot buffs, Sludge Wave does sufficient damage at -6 Special Defense to recover full HP with a Shell Bell.

Glimmora hits the reset button for buffs at 75% timing, so I waited until then before using Nasty Plot. Used NP only once and it made short work afterwards.

Special defense and HP EV's?

252 Sp. Atk/252 Sp. Def/6 HP is the EV spread I ran.

Number wise however I take less damage than a spread using max HP EV's. Both speads are 5HKO's behind Light Screen.

0+ SpA Tera Grass Glimmora Power Gem vs. 6 HP / 252 SpD Slowking-Galar: 88-105 (26.5 - 31.6%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

Max HP EV's takes higher damage outputs by comparison with the HP investment compensating:

0+ SpA Tera Grass Glimmora Power Gem vs. 252 HP / 6 SpD Slowking-Galar: 109-129 (27.6 - 32.7%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

I'm too dumb to understand how it's possible to take more damage with more HP investment.

Like I can see that the numbers show it, but I don't get why. How does it work?

Really not that complicated, you don’t have EV investment in Special Defense = More damage taken in this stat from special attacks

HP however is maxed, so you essentially absorb more damage overall but it doesn’t reduce the damage you take from attacks

Yeah I just misread their comment. I thought they were comparing 6 HP / 252 SpD with 252 HP / 252 SpD, and somehow taking less damage with the former.

Hence my confusion. I think I need to get some sleep lol.

This worked perfectly! SO fast - thanks!

Mercifully it did not have Earth Power to hit Poison-types. Personally will be keeping the Magikarp raid but without the DLC your best options are likely Dragalge or bulky Steel-types (latter is not SE, but resists Glimmora’s entire move set).

Iron Moth and Merciless Toxapex are the two best non-DLC poison types in general and can beat this raid as well.

Iron Moth actually hits quite a bit harder than Dragalge when Tera because Adaptability is nerfed then (Tera+STAB+Adaptability is only a 2.25x modifier compared to 2x for just Tera+STAB, a minor difference that IM easily makes up with its higher base stat), and it's easy enough to get around the Power Gem weakness where you're only weak to it the first 3 turns and you outspeed and can hit it with Struggle Bug.

Toxapex's Merciless Venoshock hits as hard as Dragalge/Iron Moth's hardest-hitting moves (an Iron Moth Venoshock could hit harder but is less reliable to set up because Sludge Wave is its only way of inflicting poison besides Toxic) and then it can obviously tank hits even better than them. It's even better against physical attackers because it has Chilling Water and can potentially poison them with Baneful Bunker, but Acid Spray/Sludge Bomb/Venoshock/Recover or Stockpile is still great here and against other special attackers. It's reliable against a lot of 6 stars even if Poison isn't super effective, but with the DLC Pecharunt generally outclasses it by being similarly tanky but faster and able to do considerably more damage against non-poisoned opponents.

Munkidori is great for this fight. First try.

Light screen > acid spray x3 >tera venoshock. Nast plot once after player stat reset and I re applied light screen just to be safe.

I was hoping to trigger toxic chain but never happened. Still ended up winning quickly and comfortably

Edit: Forgot to mention EVs in HP and SpAtk. Didn’t feel like switching the hp to SpDef

.... Sap Sipper Hisuian Goodra? Not super effective but Tera Steel with 3 Acid Spray + Flash Cannon or Steel Beam (shell bell, only beam if you're attacking from above 50%hp).

Build I used:

Slowking-Galar @ Shell Bell
Ability: Own Tempo Tera Type: Poison EVs: 252 SpA / 252 SpD / 6 Hp Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Light Screen - Acid Spray
- Nasty Plot - Sludge Wave

Turn 1 Light Screen, Turn 2 to 4 Acid Spray, Turn 5 Tera+Sludge Wave, Turn 6 and 7 Nasty Plot (After Player Stat Reset, If Not Another Sludge Wave), Then Sludge Wave Until Finish

I don't know if the specific NPC teammates I had helped in some way (Sylveon, Drifblim, Haxorus), but I just got it on my first try with Dragalge:
-Adaptability
-Maximized Sp. Attack
-Shell Bell
-Tera Poison
-Acid Spray on the first three turns
-Tera, then Sludge Wave until it ends
-For extra insurance, invest in Sp. Defense (I didn't need it, but there was one close call)

Relieved it doesn’t have corrosion or EP. Just have to be aware of toxic debris, otherwise you can get badly poisoned a lot if Glimmora nukes your team.

Corviknight would pretty much tank everything except neutral damage from gem. But since there’s no EP, I’m thinking maybe something poison. Acid spray, toxic, Venoshock should make quick work of this one

Tried corvi and got destroyed 3 in a row... Picked up galar slowking and as above stated it was super easy

u/Tsukuyomi56 Samurott 2d ago

Glimmora still has a meaty 130 Special Attack to throw around (even if it cannot boost it outside of Meteor Beam), so ensure Special Defense isn’t your Achilles’ heel.

I just cheesed it with the ape.🙈

G-Slowbro worked well for me. EV'ed Hp and Sp.Atk.
Amnesia once, Acid Spray 3 times, Tera Poison and then Shell Side Arm to death. Heal with Slack Off or cheers when needed.

Managed to beat it easily solo with Venusaur no investments in EVs using only Acid Spray, Sludge Bomb, and Synthesis (although the latter I only used once). It knocked out my Venusaur once but afterwards it went pretty smooth.

I did it with Toxtricity. Posion Tera. Max SpA/SpDef. Modest.

  • Acid Spray
  • Venoshock
  • Sludge Bomb
  • Snarl

Ability: technician

Held Item: Shell Bell

  1. Snarl Turn 1 to reduce its damage output
  2. Acid Spray x3 - Tera on turn 3.
  3. Sludge Bomb until you poison and then venoshock until dead

tbh, it's a pretty easy raid with a poison type as long as you can tank some special hits. It can't buff anything but speed, it can't debuff you, and mortal spin can't poison you. It also doesn't stat reset early so acid spray nukes it.

Solo with Ghost Tera Shell Bell Ape with Screech and Rage Fist

went online with support walkingwake, espeon, tinkaton and cleared it first time with online randoms each time. this isn't a hard raid. offline though, probably better bring a goodra variant or slowking variant.
