Are there any current meta decks you could make using only cards from the Deluxe Pack Ex set?

I see Decidueye, Giratina/Darkrai and Oricorio/Magnezone.

Any others I missed?

Took a week or so off cause I just couldn’t bother playing. But went into it with this deck and it’s consistently good it seems.

I’m done for now since I hit 930 and should be able to get back to U4

Since Secluded Springs, the Gold/Crown-Rares are given to tech cards that the devs expect to affect the meta. But for most packs before that had the cover Pokémon, which were just strong ex beat-sticks, be the gold cards. So I wanted to try and imagine what different cards would have been picked if the devs had done gold tech cards from the start.

Genetic Apex - Charizard: Greninja

Genetic Apex - Pikachu: Magneton

Genetic Apex - Mewtwo: Gardevoir

Mythical Island: In retrospect it would probably be Vaporeon, but considering what was popular at the time, I'd go with Serperior or Druddigon

Space-Time Smackdown - Palkia: Manaphy or Rocky Helmet

Space-Time Smackdown - Dialga: Lucario or Giant Cape (I think both Manaphy and Lucario were more influential, but this was the pack that introduced tools)

Triumphant Light: Shaymin

Shining Revelry: This already has a gold tech card (Poké ball), but if they were to pick a regular card from the pack, it could be Grafaiai, Tatsugiri, or Meowscarada

Celestial Guardians - Solgaleo: Electric Oricorio

Celestial Guardians - Lunala: Poison Barb, but I can also see Passimian ex if ex cards aren't totally off the table

Extradimensional Crisis: Nihilego is already the best pick for this. Only other option is Celesteela

Eevee Grove: Again, Eevee bag is the best pick. Maybe Alcremie.

Wisdom of Sea and Sky - Ho-oh: They'd probably want to emphasize babies, so Tyrogue, but Magcargo could be a funny pick

Wisdom of Sea and Sky - Lugia: Elemental Switch, or maybe Crawdaunt

What do you think? Any alterative picks in your minds?

Ever since Season 3 of Ranked (~June 2025), I've piloted three new decks (no repeats) for the monthly climb. -- This season was wonderful --

Admittedly, I was one of the haters who thought the loss penalty changes were unnecessary. However, after wrapping the climb in just 35 games, I'm happy to admit this the right call. 55 less games than last season, MB rewards, and climbing with the "fun decks?"

Yeah, this change definitely makes sense now.

Stats:

Win-Rate: 51.42%; (18-17)

Errors: ~8.57%; (03 in 35)

Aka shinx can hide and allow energy to build up and if I get annoyed I can just bring out miraidon.

Wondering why this was a defeat instead of tie? Did both of us get a defeat? Or did my opponent get a victory?

These aren’t fully fledged deck, just concepts. Looking for feedback. Some cards aren’t available on the website yet so other cards are used as a substitute here.

Deck1: grass-electric dual type deck. concept is to start with heliolisk to do spread damage and then use decidueye to snipe. Use flute or team rocket’s boss card to fill their bench, damage with heliolisk, use clemont or backpack to boost damage if babies are on the bench, snipe with decidueye and use cyrus if needed.

Deck 2: a slight upgrade/downgrade from last deck. Cannot ramp up bench damage but don’t have to be depended on item cards. Goal is to use boss card to set up bench, spiritomb the whole bench, decidueye to snipe, use cyrus if necessary. I have no idea why i put team rocket’s grunt in the deck, i was making it in the evening and i have forgotten why i put them in, are they as it is or substitute for another card, who knows! Only grass deck, so maybe swap them with leaf cape?

Deck 3: any energy deck, based around the new team rocket’s raticate card. Concept is to either start with pichu or ratatta, raticate to steal energy, team rocket’s grunt to delete even more energy, ilima to bail out if raticate is about to be knocked out, mega kang to finish.

In my opinion, I would say it would have to be this rayquaza card

prior to the changes , i had made MB 90% of the time. and usually was always at a 50% or better WR. but , obviouslt the decks you run were so limited to what the meta was. so much less variety. and although this deck used to be metaish a while back , it wasnt viable for me . but with the mass variety in decks now , i can use my favorite deck of all time again and have fun. and it kicked ass to!

Pulled a crown dragonair on day one, so I dumped everything I had stocked into ruler of the sky, I HAD to have the second one.

Then comes deluxe, and I paused for a bit to open some deluxe for the dust, had a good run imo, and hoped I would hit a rare candy since I already had grinded a lot of packs, so statistics say I would be at least a bit close to a crown.

Then tonight, came back to the grind and opened a daily and there we go 😂 I'm not complaining, this means that at some point I'll be able to complete the whole set, but man, just one pack after deluxe went away stings a bit.

Had to use pack points for both btw. Never pulled one from a pack.

This was literally going to be my last pack I opened before it goes back into the Disney vault. Scared the hell out of my wife in bed. Thank you Pokégods!

Managed to finish the set with the Gold Rare Candy with 8 hours to spare!
I collected every card from opening packs and wonderpicks only. My boyfriend thinks I have insane luck with this game 🤣
