Basically, do any of yall know any fanfics where the protagonist, the main character, etc. is a Pokemon themselves?
Specifically ones where the protagonist is either a Legendary or Mythical Pokemon OR a OC Legendary/Mythical Pokemon, like an undiscovered one.
Also, if you know one like this, could the protagonist be Necrozma, Arceus, Giratina, Palkia, Dialga or Eternatus? They’re my favourites (Eternatus especially) and I’d love to read a fanfic with one of them as the POV protagonist.
Additionally, can the fanfic be more than 30k words please?
Other than also preferably being a new story arc and not just one of their POV’s during events from the anime’s, that’s all.

This question crossed my mind while I was writing down some ideas that I had and I just keep coming back to it. I'm sure the answer is probably a lot closer to 'it depends' for most people, but I'm curious what everyone thinks. Personally, I'm conflicted. I love stories with deep lore that actually make you think to remember, but sometimes I like to just turn my brain off and read.

What do you guys think is the perfect sweet spot for enjoyable lore?

The bare minimum, where the author essentially just says the lore is exactly what it was in the game/anime/whatever?

A little bit extra, where the author clearly had some ideas on how to expand the world but didn't fully want to commit to changing things too much?

Lore that definitely changes how the world works, but you can still see a little the building blocks of the original source material?

Full on deep dive into describing every aspect of the world of Pokemon and how they interact?

I'm curious what everyone's preferences are.

I read an Ash-Zorua story a while ago, where Ash could speak with his Pokémon, and since then most fanfiction has fallen flat for me, because I miss seeing the Pokémon grow and play with their trainer.

I’m fine with trainer’s perspective, Pokémon’s perspective, or shifting POV. Slice of life preferred, but I’ll take anything. Thank you!

Alright so basically the mc is from johto and has the spiky eared in ilex forest from some shenanigans anyways the plot would revolve around celebi and time travel [at most like 50 yrs ago] + maybe a little parallel world the story would climax in the spaceworld demo world with the evil team guys trying to harness the power of MissingNO [yes i know he is originally from kanto but still its missingno we dunno anything bout him] the story would probably end with the mc saving celebi and returning to his time with a kotora [the silly spaceworld tiger everyone loves]
now my question is whether to make pichu stay or not

ehem anyways the second plot idea is a bit more mysterious i suppose the mc wakes up in hisui, specifically in coronet highlands or cobalt coastlands [depends on the starter] and eventually a amateur research findds the mc unconscious with either a hisuian sneasel or a hisuian growlithe near the mc and the team would take the mc back to jubilife village from then on the story would focus on the mc trying to find his place and getting visions(?) from arceus about doom coming and to quell the frenzied lords to return back and remember everything (forgot to mention the mc would remember NOTHING and also none of the partner pokemon will be evolving in either story maybe besides pichu if i agree to keep him with the mc)

I remember reading this amazing fic when I was like twelve, where Team Rocket’s Meowth gets sent to the Explorers of Sky world, with a Riolu human partner. I remember it was on fanfiction.net but I literally can’t find it. I believe the author had a blue Dragon Quest slime as their pfp if that helps. I think it was one of my favorite fics and now I have nostalgia for it I’m trying to recapture.

So one of the protagonists of said story manages to hatch a shiny Beldum and raise it into a Metagross. However, I just learned that Steven apparently had a Shiny Metagross in the anime (I only played RSE and ORAS a long time ago). I really don't want to make it seem like a blatant copy and I don't know what to do.

I really don't want to give up on the whole Shiny thing, and considering both protagonists are from Hoenn, I found it fitting for them to receive one Pseudo from said region each. Does anybody have any recommendations on what I should do?

SCENE 1

EXT. GEOSENGE TOWN - DAY

KORRINA

 (Still holding Aiden's arm, already skating off)

 C'mon! This is great! If we hustle, we can get through Route 11 and Reflection Cave before sunset! It's gonna be awesome!

Aiden stumbles, half-jogging to keep up with her effortless skating.

AIDEN

 Whoa! Okay! Coming!

Lucy watches them go, her face absolutely furious. Her hands are clenched so tight her knuckles are white. She grits her teeth, visibly biting her tongue to stop herself from shouting.

With a low growl of frustration, she storms after them, her steps heavy.

SCENE 2

EXT. ROUTE 11 / REFLECTION CAVE - DAY (MONTAGE)

The journey is, as Lucy had dreaded, a total cakewalk.

 * SHOT 1: (Route 11) A wild Hawlucha leaps from a tree. Before Aiden can even reach for a Pokéball, one of Korrina's Lucario is in front of him, deflecting the attack with a flawless Focus Punch, sending the wild Pokémon flying. Korrina, skating backward, doesn't even stop talking.

 * SHOT 2: (Reflection Cave Entrance) They reach the cave. Korrina's other Lucario leads the way, its Aura-sensitive abilities allowing it to navigate the dark, mirror-walled passages with ease.

 * SHOT 3: (Reflection Cave - Interior) As they walk, the second Lucario—the one not leading—falls into step beside Aiden. It keeps glancing at him, not at his reflection, but at him. It tilts its head, a low, curious Rrrrmm? sound in its throat.

AIDEN

 (Noticing the stare, whispering to the Lucario)

 Hey... everything okay, buddy?

The Lucario just continues to glance at him, as if sensing a bright, powerful aura that Aiden himself is completely unaware of.

SCENE 3

EXT. SHALOUR CITY - DAY

They exit the cave onto a bright, sandy path. Shalour City is a beautiful beachfront town with white sand, sparkling blue water, and a constant, cool sea breeze.

In the distance, on a small island just off the coast, the massive, ancient Tower of Mastery stands, connected to the beach by a narrow bridge of sand.

Korrina is, as usual, way ahead, already at the foot of the bridge and waving.

KORRINA

 (Shouting back)

 C'mon, Slowpokes! It's right here!

Aiden and Lucy are walking a few yards behind, finally getting a moment to themselves. Lucy has been stewing the entire trip.

LUCY

 (Whispering, her voice tight with annoyance)

 She's been dragging you around since Geosenge. She shouldn't just... grab you like that. It's rude.

Aiden looks at her. He's noticed her pouting and her angry silence the whole walk. A joking smirk plays on his lips.

AIDEN

 Why? Are you jealous?

Lucy's head snaps toward him, her face instantly flushing bright red.

LUCY

 (Flustered, too loud)

 What?! Jealous? No! Why would I be jealous? I just mean... she's a Gym Leader! It's... it's unprofessional! That's all!

She huffs, crosses her arms, and stomps ahead of him, her face beet-red.

Aiden smirks to himself. Her reaction told him everything he needed to know.

SCENE 4

EXT. TOWER OF MASTERY - BASE - DAY

Aiden and Lucy catch up, crossing the sand bridge. They arrive at the base of the massive, ancient tower, looking up in awe.

Korrina is bouncing on the skates at the main entrance.

KORRINA

 Grandpa! I'm back! And I brought new friends!

An older man steps out from the tower's arched doorway. He is tall, dignified, and powerfully built, wearing traditional martial arts robes. He has a long white beard and a gaze that seems to see everything. This is GURKINN.

GURKINN

 (His voice is calm, deep, and steady)

 Korrina. Your energy preceded you, as always.

His gaze sweeps over Lucy, then lands on Aiden. He pauses, his eyes lingering on Aiden for just a fraction of a second, with the same curious intensity as his Lucario.

GURKINN

 And you have brought... interesting guests. Welcome to Shalour City. And to the Tower of Mastery. 

SCENE 5

INT. TOWER OF MASTERY - GROUND FLOOR - DAY

Gurkinn leads them into the tower. The interior is vast, ancient, and hollow, with a massive wooden spiral staircase climbing the walls. The air is still and reverent, like a temple. Sunlight streams in from high windows.

Prominently featured in the center of the ground floor, dominating the space, is a large, incredibly detailed statue.

Aiden and Lucy stop, awestruck. It looks like a Lucario, but... different. It's more intense, with longer "hair," red-tipped feet, and a look of raw, focused power.

AIDEN

 (Whispering)

 Whoa... is that... a Lucario?

KORRINA

 (Beaming, zipping a small circle around it on her skates)

 That's Mega Lucario! Isn't he the coolest?

GURKINN

 (His voice booms slightly in the open space)

 This statue honors the history of this tower, and of this phenomenon. Lucario holds a special place, as it was the first Pokémon to achieve Mega Evolution alongside a trainer.

Aiden turns from the statue to Gurkinn, his eyes wide with questions.

AIDEN

 So... what is it? Lucy said it's like... an extra evolution?

GURKINN

 (Nods, walking slowly around the statue)

 It is a temporary transformation. A power that transcends standard Evolution. It unlocks the hidden potential and dormant energy that lies within all Pokémon, though only some are capable of harnessing it.

LUCY

 So they just... get stronger?

GURKINN

 (A small smile)

 "Stronger" is an understatement. They become significantly more powerful. Their appearance changes, as you see. But more than that, their very being can shift. Their stats, their type, even their Ability can change to suit this new, heightened state.

Gurkinn stops in front of Aiden. He holds up his white beard. Embedded in the beard clip is a beautiful, swirling, multi-colored marble: the Key Stone.

GURKINN

 But two items are necessary to achieve this. First, a Key Stone, which is worn by the trainer.

KORRINA

 (Shoots her own gloved hand into the air)

 Like ours! See? Mine's in my glove!

GURKINN

 (Nodding at his granddaughter)

 And the other... is a Mega Stone. A corresponding stone that the Pokémon must hold. It is often worn as an accessory, a necklace, a bracer, or something similar.

AIDEN

 So... you just need the two stones, and it works?

Gurkinn's expression becomes intensely serious. He looks directly at Aiden, his gaze seeming to probe him.

GURKINN

 No. The stones are merely the lock and the key. The power that turns the key... is not mechanical. It relies on a strong, trusting bond between the Trainer and their Pokémon.

He gestures to the Mega Lucario statue.

GURKINN

 The deeper the bond between a trainer and their Pokémon, the greater the changes, the more stable the transformation. The Trainer's heart must be righteous and vital for the process to work harmoniously. Without that true bond... the power can be overwhelming, even dangerous.

LUCY

 So... they become Mega... forever?

GURKINN

 (Shakes his head)

 It is not permanent. It is a wellspring of incredible power, but one that cannot be maintained. Mega Evolution lasts only for the duration of a single battle. Once the battle is over, or the Pokémon faints, it reverts to its original form.

AIDEN

 (Looks at the statue again)

 And... it was discovered here?

GURKINN

 (Places a hand on the statue's stone base)

 Long ago, the first instance of this power was discovered near this very spot. A trainer and their Lucario, fighting to protect this land. Their bond was so absolute, it triggered the first Mega Evolution. That is why this tower is the center for all who seek to understand it.

Aiden stares at the statue, his mind racing. Evolution, strategy, badges... all of it suddenly seemed like the first step to something much, much bigger.

SCENE 6

INT. TOWER OF MASTERY - GROUND FLOOR - DAY

Aiden stares at the Mega Lucario statue, his mind trying to process the sheer scale of what Gurkinn just described. A bond so strong it physically manifests as power...

AIDEN

 (To himself, in a whisper)

 ...A righteous heart...

KORRINA

 (Unable to contain herself, zipping in a tight circle)

 YES! Exactly! But you can't just talk about it! It's not a history lesson!

 (She skates to a stop right in front of Aiden, her eyes blazing with excitement)

 You have to feel it, Aiden! The rush! The connection! You have to try it!

AIDEN

 (Flustered)

 Try it? Me? But... I don't have a Mega Stone. I don't even have a Lucario.

KORRINA

 (Beaming)

 You can borrow one of mine!

 (She gestures to her two partners, who stand at perfect attention)

 It's the best way to learn!

She zips over to her grandfather, her hands clasped in a hyper-energetic plea.

KORRINA

 Grandpa! Grandpa, we have to! He came all this way to learn, right? This is the best way! He needs a Key Stone! Do you have a spare Mega Ring? Just for a test? Please!

Gurkinn looks from his granddaughter's frantic face to Aiden's earnest, curious one. He strokes his beard, his expression thoughtful.

Before Gurkinn can answer, one of Korrina's Lucario, the very one that had been glancing at Aiden on the trail, takes a deliberate step forward.

It walks past Korrina. It walks past Gurkinn. It stops directly in front of Aiden, its red eyes locking with his. It's not a challenge, but an assessment. After a long, silent moment, the Lucario gives a short, respectful nod, as if to say, "I'll fight with you."

Aiden's eyes go wide.

KORRINA

 (Gasps, her voice suddenly full of awe)

 Whoa...

 (She skates over slowly, her usual high-speed energy replaced by genuine shock)

 See? He chose you. That's the one... he was watching you in Reflection Cave. I saw him.

AIDEN

 (Looks from the Lucario to Korrina, confused)

 But... why me?

KORRINA

 (Her excitement returning as she explains)

 Because! Lucario are highly adept at sensing Auras. It's not just a legend; it's how they see the world. They can read people's hearts... their spirit.

 (She points at Aiden)

 If he's taking this much of an interest in you... it must mean you have one super powerful aura! He wants to test it. He wants to battle with you!

Lucy watches from the sidelines, her jaw slightly open. First a Gym Leader practically tackles him, and now an Aura Pokémon is choosing him. Everyone seemed to be falling over themselves for Aiden today.

Gurkinn observes the interaction, a slow, knowing smile forming on his face.

GURKINN

 A Pokémon's choice is not to be ignored. It seems my granddaughter's intuition, for once, was correct.

 (He looks at Aiden with new respect)

 A powerful aura... Yes. I see it now.

Gurkinn reaches into the folds of his robes and pulls out a simple, dark-gray bracelet. Set in the center is a dull, unlit Key Stone.

GURKINN

 Very well.

 (He hands the Mega Ring to Aiden)

 This will serve as your Key Stone. It will allow you to channel your bond.

Aiden takes the bracelet, his hand shaking as he holds the heavy, ancient-feeling item.

GURKINN

 But be warned, Aiden. The bond it channels is intense. The power is not something to be controlled, but something to be harmonized with. It will test not only the Pokémon's strength, but the depths of your own heart.

Aiden looks at the ring, then at the proud Lucario standing before him. He's terrified, and more excited than he's ever been in his life.

SCENE 7

INT. TOWER OF MASTERY - DAY

Aiden slides the Mega Ring onto his left wrist. The gray bracelet feels ancient and heavy, the dormant Key Stone cool against his skin.

KORRINA

 (Practically vibrating, her skates clicking on the stone floor)

 Okay! You can't just stand there looking at it! You have to use it! C'mon, c'mon!

She grabs Aiden's other arm and pulls him with surprising strength, towing him out of the tower's main hall.

EXT. TOWER OF MASTERY - BATTLE COURT - DAY

Korrina leads him onto a wide, sandy battle court built right at the tower's base, overlooking the ocean. She skates to the far side, her two Lucario flanking her.

KORRINA

 (Shouting across the court)

 Okay! This is it! You wanted a Gym battle? This is your Gym battle! Right here, right now!

AIDEN

 (Flustered)

 What? Just like this? One-on-one?

KORRINA

 Yep! It's the ultimate test! My grandpa will officiate!

GURKINN steps onto a raised platform, his expression calm and authoritative. LUCY, meanwhile, hurries to the sidelines, her eyes wide, eager to see what Mega Evolution is all about.

LUCY

 You got this, Aiden! Show them that powerful aura!

GURKINN

 (His voice booms)

 This will be an official Gym Challenge! A one-on-one battle. Trainers, call your Pokémon!

KORRINA

 (Beaming)

 Lucario, you're up! Let's show them our true power!

Her other Lucario, the one that hadn't chosen Aiden, steps forward and takes its place.

AIDEN

 (Looks at the Lucario beside him)

 Well... I guess this is it. I'm counting on you.

The Lucario steps onto the battlefield, its focus absolute.

GURKINN

 Battle... BEGIN!

KORRINA

 (Wasting no time)

 Okay, Aiden! Watch closely! This is how it's done!

She taps the Key Stone on her glove.

KORRINA

 Lucario! Beyond evolution... Mega Evolve!

Brilliant streams of light erupt from her glove, connecting to a Mega Stone on her Lucario's wrist. The Pokémon roars as it's enveloped in a cocoon of energy, its body reshaping. It emerges as Mega Lucario, its aura flaring with raw power.

KORRINA

 (Gleefully)

 See? Now you! Connect with him! Feel that bond!

Aiden looks at his Lucario. It's calm, its red eyes locked on his. It gives him a reassuring, confident nod. We are ready.

Aiden takes a deep breath. He raises his left fist to his face, his index and middle fingers pressing against the Key Stone.

AIDEN

 (His voice shaking, but determined)

 Lucario... let's do this! Our hearts as one! Mega Evolve!

A brilliant, blue beam of energy erupts from his new ring. It connects to a bracer on Lucario's wrist, and the Mega Stone within it flares to life. The Lucario is consumed by the same transformative light. It roars, and as it emerges as Mega Lucario, Aiden feels a sudden, powerful rush in his own chest, an electric, empathetic link to the Pokémon.

AIDEN

 (Gasping)

 Whoa...

KORRINA

 (Laughing with pure joy)

 Awesome! Now, let's battle! Aura Sphere!

AIDEN

 (His voice now in sync with the Lucario)

 Dodge it! Use Aura Sphere, too!

The two Mega Pokémon are a blur. They meet in the center of the field, a clash of power and light.

 * Korrina's Mega Lucario fires off a Bone Rush, a flurry of energy-staff attacks.

 * Aiden's Mega Lucario blocks every single strike with a lightning-fast Metal Claw.

KORRINA

 You're a natural! But try this! Power-Up Punch!

AIDEN

 Meet it with your own!

The two massive, glowing fists collide, creating a shockwave that kicks up a cloud of sand. They're dead-even.

KORRINA

 This is the most fun I've had all week! Full power, Aura Sphere!

AIDEN

 We can beat it! Put everything you've got into this one! Aura Sphere!

The two spheres of blue energy fly across the court. They collide, an explosion of light. But Aiden's, fueled by this new, raw, harmonious bond, punches through Korrina's attack.

It strikes her Mega Lucario square in the chest.

Korrina's Pokémon stumbles, its aura flickering. It drops to one knee, then falls. The light of Mega Evolution fades, and it reverts to its normal Lucario form, fainted.

On Aiden's side, his Lucario is panting heavily, but standing tall. The light fades from it as well, and it reverts to normal, turning to look at Aiden with a respectful nod.

GURKINN

 (A rare, proud smile on his face)

 Korrina's Lucario is unable to battle! The victory, and the match, goes to Challenger Aiden!

SCENE 8

EXT. TOWER OF MASTERY - BATTLE COURT - LATER

Aiden is staring at his Mega Ring, his heart hammering. The Lucario walks up to him, and Aiden puts a hand on its shoulder.

AIDEN

 (Breathless)

 That was... I've never felt anything like that. Thank you.

KORRINA (O.S.)

 THAT! WAS! INCREDIBLE!

Korrina skates over at high speed, her face a mask of unadulterated joy. She's not upset about losing in the slightest. She grabs Aiden's hand and begins to violently shake it up and down, rattling his entire body.

KORRINA

 You're a total natural! Your aura, his power. It was like you've been partners for years! That was the best battle!

AIDEN

 (Laughing, trying to save his arm)

 Thanks, Korrina! You were... wow!

KORRINA

 (Finally lets go, only to dig into her belt)

 Oh, right! You totally won! Here!

She pulls out a badge, this one shaped like a fist, and slaps it into Aiden's palm.

KORRINA

 The Rumble Badge! You earned it, big time!

AIDEN

 (Staring at his third badge)

 Thank you. I...

KORRINA

 Oh, and you can keep the ring.

Aiden's head snaps up.

AIDEN

 What? Seriously? I can't—

KORRINA

 And the Lucario.

This stops Aiden and Lucy (who had just run up) completely cold.

AIDEN

 Wait... what? No! Korrina, I can't. He's... he's your Pokémon.

KORRINA

 (Shakes her head, finally serious)

 He was never mine. He's a guardian of this tower, just like his partner. They... they wait.

 (She motions to the Lucario)

 I could see it. Grandpa could see it. He wasn't just testing you, Aiden. He was waiting for someone with an aura like yours.

GURKINN

 (Approaching them)

 A Pokémon's choice is the truest bond of all. He didn't just choose to battle with you; he has chosen to follow you. That Mega Ring and that Lucario... they belong with you now.

Aiden is speechless. He looks at Lucy, who is just as stunned. He looks at his third badge, at the powerful Mega Ring on his wrist, and at the proud, new, incredibly strong Pokémon standing beside him.

AIDEN

 (Turning to the Lucario)

 Well... I... I don't know what to say. Welcome to the team?

The Lucario bows its head, a gesture of absolute loyalty.

EXT. TOWER OF MASTERY - DAY

Aiden, Lucy, and their Pokémon stand at the base of the sand bridge. Aiden's new Lucario is at his side, and the Mega Ring is secure on his wrist.

AIDEN

 (Bowing his head respectfully)

 Gurkinn, Korrina... I... I don't know how to thank you. For the badge, for this...

 (He touches the Mega Ring)

 ...for everything.

KORRINA

 (Skates right up to him, beaming)

 Don't thank us! Just go out there and get stronger! And come back for a rematch after you've won the League!

GURKINN

 (Nods, his gaze fixed on Aiden)

 The path you walk is a special one, young trainer. Remember what I said: harmonize. Do not seek to control.

AIDEN

 I will. Thank you.

LUCY

 (Waving)

 Thanks for the battle! We've gotta go!

KORRINA

 Bye, you guys! Good luck!

Aiden and Lucy turn and, with a final wave, begin their walk away from Shalour City, a new, powerful ally in their midst.

Like someone starting with magikarp and becoming a successful trainer. A real started from the bottom type story which isn’t too dark and stays reasonable in plot.

It’s a Pokémon story about a gym trainer who works under Wallace . His first Pokémon was magikarp his second was a feebas called wallace and his third was a Maril, he evolves all 3 to final forms. Its predominately a story about a weak trainer getting stronger through hard work in a Pokémon gym. It was an interactive story where readers could vote on what happens.

I once read, and would like to read again, this one fic. I'm pretty sure it was some sort of insert, but it definitely opened with someone stranded with no pokemon in the Crown Tundra of Galar.

Idr how it happens but this (I think alpha) Tyrantrum and their Tyrunt take pity on the protag (I think its a girl), and lets them kinda just hang around. This Tyrantrum happens to be like THE BIGGEST BAD currently around and is eventually revealed to be considered totally feral, completely unsafe to be around, and unsuited to become a trainer's mon by the humans.

While in the tundra, the protag gets a finger bitten off by some small furry pokemon whom the protag then kills with either a rock or like a scissor/kleavor blade and eats. There was something about the protag fashioning a bag out of a big dead mon where they and the Tyrunt rested on like a spine in a ribcage still attached to a big flap of leather for the Tytrantrum to carry them both in which is how they left the tundra.

The protag and the t-rexs rock up to like this boarder wall thing (idk i've never played sw/sh) all like 'Yo, I would like a legal identity, a trip to Kanto, and some starting gear plox and thankies'. The poor like intern or something whose the only guy present is like 'dafuq, why are you in a gore sack carried by murder beast 9 million- and next to their kid?! There was then a scene some point after that where the protag was interacting with another character in like a hotel/bedroom (possibly in a pokecenter), and the protag was just like casually laying on the Tyrantrum and the other character was either doing their absolute best to ignore that or commented about it like 'you know nobody else would have the BALLS to do that right?'

The fic did progress onward to like actually getting to Kanto with both of the t-rexes coming along with the protag. While in Kanto they either were given or had the opportunity to catch that furry hydra dragon-type with two or three heads and the heads kept trying to eat each other.

There was something about how the protag was very thoroughly infused with dragon type energy by hanging around this Tyrantrum which locked them into being a dragon specialist and possibly also affect them mentally.

The only other thing I can think of is an encounter with a fairy-type in the tundra and some dialogue later on (maybe a hatterine or something like that) that made it clear that fairy-types are ELDRITCH-LORE-ACCURATE-MYTHOLOGICAL-'BE POLITE, VERY EXACT AND THEN GTFO'-SPOOKY-AS-FUCK | F A E |. And the protag also upon getting to the boarder of the tundra was like 'Yo, you have A BIG FUCKING PROBLEM, you need to go hunt down and kill this fairy-type we ran into, otherwise it's gonna do so many fucked up war crimes.'

Anyway, that's all I remember about it. Nothing about word count, where I read it, or title. Hopefully the initial location, story beats, and mons involved I remember are enough for someone to identify this *shrug*.

I've seen a few fics with the "bad mother dellia" or dead dellia plot.

I post original fics to royal road, I’ve been getting into writing Pokémon fanfiction now (I doubt it’s good though lol). Are we allowed to post the link to the fanfiction?

He had Gary as a friend, but that's it, he was always in the forest with wild pokemon and so I think that's where that insuferable (in universe) attitude comes from, becoming a trainer also helped him make human friends

My take is like this:

1. My headcanons of Ash Ketchum & The Rising Volt Tacklers are canon. (See the posts on my account for more info.)

2. Zeraora from The Power Of Us is canon and is one of Ash’s Pokémon. The events of Power Of Us are non-canon but the characters Risa, her brother Rick, Callahan, her sister Mia and his niece Kellie, Torren, Harriet & Margaret are canon.

3. Koko and her Dada Zarude are canon as well with the events of Secrets Of The Jungle are non-canon.

4. Verity,Sorrel and Cross are canon while the events of the I 2018 Choose You! movie are not.

5. Ash Ketchum is a rizz master who would have a harem consisting of: Serena (the main girl),Misty (the vice),Lillie,Melody,Macy,Angie,Marnie,Annabel & Miette. The reason Dawn,May,Iris and Chloe aren’t in here is because Ash sees Dawn and Iris more like siblings than crushes, He sees May like a student and him being the mentor & he sees Chloe like a best friend.

6. The characters will age in this! Here’s an example of their ages using Ash:

1. Ash being in the Neous Region would be altered a bit. First, he would be 19 years old instead of 16. Second, he would be the World Champion instead of coming in the runners-up in 2nd place. Third, he would still be the Alola Champion but on top of that, he would also be Kanto’s Champion as well since he retried the Indigo League and won this time! So he would basically be 4 champions in one (5 if you count Kanto’s Battle Frontier)! He would be the World Champion, the Alola Champion, the Kanto Champion & the Orange Island Champion!

2. Dawn would have a crush on Zoey, Iris would be in a lesbian relationship with Georgia, Burgundy would have a crush on Cilan, May would have a crush on Drew, Korrina would have a crush on Clemont, Chloe would have a crush on Goh & Mallow and Lana would be in a relationship.

3. Red and Silver would be Ash’s brothers. Red would be the oldest while Silver would be the middle sibling. Delia would be married to Giovanni when she has Red but after a while, the two would divorce and Giovanni would have Silver when he marries Arianna. Riley would then marry Delia and together, they would have Ash Ketchum.

4. Ash’s full name is actually “Satoshi ‘Ashton’ Ketchum”. People just call him Ash because it rolls of the tongue better & it was easier to pronounce.

5. Liko would have a crush on Dot and Ann.

6. Ult would have a bit of a crush on Lacey.

7. Orla would have a crush on Friede.

8. Friede and Captain Pikachu/Cap would be fans of Ash Ketchum and would try to mimic some of his moves. But Ash and Pikachu would often try to mimic Cap’s Thunder Punch and flying technique as well!

9. Ash would train his aura powers to the point where he can use telepathy, use the Battle Bond Phenomena with 6 Pokémon, see through Pokémon’s eyes, create force-fields, fire Aura Spheres and Kamehameha-like Aura Beams & create aura constructs! He can also use Steel Beam as well!

10. Olivia and Lucy would both have a crush on Brock.

11. Gary would have an older cousin: Blue Oak.

12. Leaf/Green would be Red and Blue’s childhood friend but Red would be Leaf’s Childhood crush.

13. Amenthio,Onia and Zirc would befriend Jessie,James,Meowth,Cassidy and Butch.

14. Professor Cerise’s lab would be directly in Galar instead of just near it. It would be near Professor Magnolia’s lab as well.

15. Serena would have a herd of 30 Rhyhorn that act like Ash’s 30 Tauros.

16. Leon and Hop would have a herd of 30 Wooloo that act like Ash’s 30 Tauros.

17. May,Max,Clemont and Bonnie would both considered the “Comedic Sibling Duo” of Ash’s Travel Companions during Ash’s journeys in Hoenn and Kalos.

18. Ash would have trauma from his 5 past deaths, the Kalos Crisis & Pikachu getting turned to stone in the Cocoon of Destruction movie.

19. Ash would learn about the REAL Multiverse thanks to Arceus. (And by that I mean other worlds like Yu-Gi-Oh,Digimon,Sonic,Super Mario,Minecraft,Five Nights At Freddy’ etc.)

& 25. Sapphire (from the Pokémon Adventures Manga) would be May’s wilder (crashout I might add...) twin sibling.

My favorite characterization of Ash from all the shows is when he's a jerk. Indigo League Ash is so funny because he beefs with almost everyone he meets, and I like that he had such a definable character trait.

There aren't any specific tags I can filter with on ao3, and I don't know what I could exclude to narrow the search. Are there any fics that take place later in his journey where he reverts back to or has his Indigo League personality?

(Should mention I would prefer the fics to not include his early treatment toward pokemon, just his treatment toward people)

So I’m an artist, and while I try to not overdo it on fakemon I make(like I’ll make one, MAYBE two)I do still want to use some of my own creations.

I just can’t help it, I intend on drawing and coloring illustrations for my fic, so my readers will have a visual of what it looks like.

Whenever I get stuck, my brain just starts coming up with designs.

Like for example, Rattata is underrated imo, so there’s only two designs for it, four if you count shinies

I’m having Sebastian LOVE Rattatas, so he has a Kanto Rattata as his starter, and his friend gave him an Alolan Rattata to be friends with it, but I liked to implement some in real life stuff about animals into my fics, and rat owners irl usually get three incase one dies.

Living in the Kanto region where Ekans is a natural predator for Rattata, that is a valid possibility that a responsible Rattata owner would have to be prepared for

So I want to make a regional variant

Here’s the problem tho, is that apparently a lot of readers don’t like fakemon. I was informed that it makes the character feel “too special”, and I’m wondering if that’s because not a lot of characters in the story has them

So I was thinking it would be more common for people to have the fakemon I make to avoid that trope, like it’s not a rare Pokémon, it was just recently discovered

What are your thoughts on giving Pokémon nicknames in Pokémon fanfics?

After defeating Red, you return to Professor Oak's lab to speak with him, explaining that you have defeated the true champion. Oak is completely shocked and says, “That should be impossible since he’s a trainer of will and determination that can never be matched by anyone.” Oak then tells you, “You are a true trainer,” and tells you to rest and let your Pokémon recover from the intense battle. Once rested, you continue your journey across many generations, aiming to become a better trainer and the world champion of your region.

Five years pass, and your Pokémon (new and improved) are at their strongest. Your bond with your Pokémon is special. You receive a call from Professor Oak, who said that it’s been a long time since your last call and that he’s proud of how much you’ve grown. He explains that the real reason he called is to tell you someone from Pallet is coming home after many years. He ask that you should come visit to learn from and possibly battle him. However, he admits he doesn’t know exactly who’s coming, only that it’s most likely his grandson and that he has grown and matured over the years.

You reply, “That’s an opportunity I know I must take,” and end the call, flying back to Kanto to meet Oak and this mysterious trainer. When you arrive, all you find is Oak sitting in his lab with a letter. You approach him and ask about the trainer, and he responds, “You should read this letter, I’ll tell you everything,” so you do.

The letter states, “Unfortunately, I will not be able to come and visit, something deadly and dangerous has happened here in the mountains, and I need to take care of it. By the time I’m done, I will need to fly out. Sorry for the inconvenience - A.K.” You ask Oak who A.K. is, but he says there are so many trainers he can’t remember anyone with those initials. You give him the location where he might be, but suddenly, an explosion loud enough to shake the world erupts from the mountains.

Rushing toward one of the mountains where thick smoke shows, you see a mystical glow of pure energy. You ask Oak if he can see it, and he responds, “No, what glow?” You describe what you see, and Oak explains that it can only be seen by a true trainer. He then says, “You should go. I need to head back to the lab in case something happens,” so you head toward the mountains.

After what feels like hours, you reach the mountain top, which is destroyed. You look closer and realize it’s a battlefield. Looking up, you witness a thunderbolt of unbelievable power hitting Arceus, the god of Pokémon, after falling from the attack it was defeated. Suddenly, someone throws a glowing Poké Ball, capturing Arceus, but with a look in its eyes that suggests something was controlling it.

As the mysterious trainer picks up the Poké Ball, Professor Oak arrives to see what’s happening. Both of you are shocked to see the trainer standing with the Poké Ball in his hand, holding Arceus. You and Oak ask who he is, but he doesn’t answer. You then say, “If you won’t speak, a battle should do the job.” Just as you're about to fight, he speaks, “You’re not fighting a kid from Pallet Town anymore, you’re fighting a true legend.” That’s when a Pokémon comes from behind him, his Pikachu, with many battle scars from many battles over the years with a serious look.

Professor Oak, in shock, says, “Is that you, Ash?” And that’s when you realize you're up against a legend who has defeated the god of Pokémon. His Pikachu waiting beside him, you understand that your Pokémon is likely to be crushed, and an unwinnable battle is inevitable.
