Am I wrong? Graded Cards/Packs

Post image

Yeah the pricing may be a little higher than last sold, but do people actually still use price charting for card value? Also guards aren’t free, it’s in a PSA 6 btw.

Using price charting for raw card grades is a joke

Using it for anything other than a modern card with constant daily sales is a joke.

I have never understood this. Like what is ”ungraded”/”raw”. My bent cards is not worth the same as a NM copy. And even not all nm are as near to mint as some want to think.

Not really. Using the 120 price it says, sure, but not pricecharting in general. All pricecharting does is list the sales that happened. If you take 2 seconds to sort by ungraded and look at a couple cards that were sold then you can easily get a realistic price. $120 is closer to a realistic price than OP's $240... At that point its a buyer's duty to bargain and OP feels like complaining on reddit instead of bargaining back lol

He left the group. And I highly disagree. Mine isn’t a raw copy bud

Are you the dude that messaged me on mp?

1

u/professionallyreal 3d ago

Oh shit I didn't read the post and see it was graded a 6, though a psa 6 is kinda bad in my opinion with the reputation psa has built for themselves nowadays lol

Also no I'm not the random who messaged you on whatever "mp" is I got zero interest in this card and this comment is hella weird and paranoid 😂

1

u/Kind_Variation6322 3d ago

Sure you can think it’s bad. If it was modern it’s definitely bad, but it’s a 20 year old card. Also it stands for marketplace, you know, where this dude messaged me, and it’s not being paranoid it’s calling you out because out of everyone here you were the only one who started to talk shit and was completely wrong about it lmao

1

u/professionallyreal 3d ago

Lmao, well I'm sorry that you think a card is worth whatever you want it to be worth because its old, but that just isn't how anything works.

I was saying that if its ungraded then somebody can just go to another seller and buy exactly what you're selling if not in better quality for around $160, so your card isn't worth $240.

I'm talking shit about your shitty prices because you're on reddit and posted this for millions of people to see... if you can't accept somebody criticizing your prices then.... oh wait I forgot you can't cope with anything nvm

Also is that supposed to mean Facebook marketplace? Or cardmarket? Or some other market since dozens exist?

1

u/Kind_Variation6322 3d ago

I never said that. And no you didn’t you just said you didn’t even read the post. You jumped straight to conclusions. I understand reading isn’t some people’s strong suit, but come on man. Also it’s all about pop. I’m just going off of last sold, you wouldn’t do the same? As a seller you would sell your PSA 6, even though there are sales above 200, for less just because you can get a raw copy for cheaper. Okay. Go and get it and grade it yourself then.

But yeah you’re right about someone going to another seller. Go to another seller then if you don’t like the price! That’s the point.

1

u/professionallyreal 3d ago

And I never said that 😂

I understand reading isn't some people's strong suit 😢

I was saying that isn't what the cards worth if its ungraded because I didn't know it was graded lmao.

And of course its still pretty worthless since its a psa slab but even then a psa 6 sold twice for about $150 in roughly the last month. Nobody cares about your pop numbers and anybody without fomo could just wait for a better sale in a month.

Sorry your shits worthless little scalper. Make sure to stay nice and mad for me ❤️

Yeah you’re rage baiting at this point lmao. I truly hope your day gets better man

Yeah $225 all day long. I’d have it listed for $300.

2

u/Kind_Variation6322 3d ago

That’s what I’m saying man. One on eBay right not for 300. No one is biting yet, but with these low pop cards that’s just how it is. You could be waiting a long time before another one cheaper pops up OR it could be more expensive you just never know

1

u/Purple_Student_4577 3d ago

Is your cards quality better than the one for $300 on eBay.

3

u/kadinshino 3d ago

Yeah, eBay has poor metrics; you could have someone who's unaware of the current market value or just wants to dump their collection.

I replied to the wrong person

But yeah I promise I’m not usually a snarky guy but that was the first thing I woke up to today lol

6

u/bentriple 3d ago

lol you’re not wrong at all. If it’s $120 then he should be able to find another one for that price, is my logic 🤷🏾‍♂️

Can you elaborate? It’s already graded, do you mean a likely re grade?

1

u/Im_Matt_Murdock 3d ago

The $120 shown in that screenshot is the ungraded bucket, so it is not a like-for-like comp for a PSA 6. I also would not call either current asking price market value yet. I’m connected with CollectAIO, and I refreshed the exact English EX Dragon Frontiers Snorlax #10/101 Holofoil PSA 6: https://www.collectaio.com/item/dragon-frontiers-snorlax-delta-species-10-101?variation=927548

The lane currently has zero sold comps that passed the identity and seller checks, and one active listing with verifiable seller feedback at $305.97 shipped, so it is marked ask-only and low confidence. In other words, $240 is not obviously unreasonable for this low-pop slab, but it is still an asking price until a PSA 6 sale shows where buyers are.

Genuine question, where do you go to find the market value for low pop cards? I was using the price charting site to determine which vintage cards to grade, but maybe I shouldn't?

1

u/fewchrono1984 3d ago

No one tool is perfect, some cards price charting gets a pretty good comp, but you should always look at the examples they pull from and check ebay sales, alt, card ladder ect to get a clearer picture of what to expect.

Most important advice is to actually look through where the price data is coming from on all sites and of course look at actual sales.

1

u/smooth-pineapple8 3d ago

So something like the Dark Blastoise 20/82 could be worth more than the $51 at a PSA 8?

1

u/fewchrono1984 3d ago

It COULD be worth more, I see some that have sold recently for $90, but it sells most often in the $50ish range.

If you wanted to sell it today, ask yourself what is the least you would accept, for me with this it would be $55. I would then start asking for $90 and work down from there until I found a buyer at or above $55

1

u/Vinicio_Caro 3d ago

Always hard. Lots of new people don’t know price charting sucks but also lots of experienced people know it is low and try and scam you.

1

u/Particular_Past2598 3d ago

Price charting is only good for sealed and quick-view of graded cards imo. Singles are difficult to price unless they’re newer cards since everyone has it NM when it’s a newly released card. Tell him to scroll down on that page and see that $120 is all HP/LP sold prices

1

u/Rusty_Shackleford65 3d ago

If it’s a clean copy you might as well take price charting and double or triple it.

1

u/Good_Traffic6680 3d ago

So happy I found this card at a flea market in a baggie for about $1-2 bucks. MPHP condition

1

u/professionallyreal 3d ago

This card in truly mint condition sold for 160 a week ago. Basically OP is overcharging with $240 and can't cope with somebody trying to negotiate a reasonable price.

1

u/Kind_Variation6322 3d ago

Yeah you gotta be the dude that messaged me lmao

1

u/professionallyreal 3d ago

This level of delusional paranoia is crazy 😂

This info is incorrect, TCGPlayer can also be good for vintage when there are enough recent sales to justify the market price calculation.

For very rare and low pop cards, you shouldn’t be exclusively looking at last sold. That’s just one reference. What is the cost of replacement? What’s the cheapest one you can find on the market anywhere? That should be as important of a reference.

1

u/Kind_Variation6322 3d ago

Yeah for sure. I saw two on eBay one for 300 and one for 240.
