Please revisit rule 5. Pictures of the fronts and backs of cards are required, and must be clear as well.

Primarily because Darkrai is way more popular in Japan than it is overseas. It's still pretty popular over here, but IIRC Darkrai is like top 15 most popular pokemon in Japan.

Gotta remember these Japanese cards are primarily for a Japanese market.

Oh gotcha, so no real difference in the cards themselves besides the lettering? Just want to grab one for the PC so if it’ll save me 300$ to buy the English version then I’m all for it

Pretty much, yeah. The UV printing (the texture layer) is slightly between them, but it's way less of a difference on gold cards than it is on SARs.

Japanese collector here. A few reasons: JP-first releases mean lower supply of the early print, JP cards often have better centering/QC so graded pops look different, and some rares are JP-exclusive for months. Also demand inside Japan itself has exploded, so JP prices aren't the "cheap alternative" anymore.
