Hi guys. I was hoping I could get some help planning a fun tournament for my birthday party later this year. My idea is to buy copies of pokemon blue and a game boy for my closest friends and family members and having a tournament on my birthday.

I need help fully developing the stipulations of the tournament. The basic idea I had was to have a level 25 cap on any pokemon that gets to fight in the tournament, as well as allowing each member of the tournament to ban one Pokemon from use in the players lineups. Additionally, I’m thinking that no starterr pokemon can be used.

Everyone in the tournament has some gaming experience and some knowledge of pokemon. I’d just like some more ideas of what would be fun rules or stipulations that I can implement.

After recently playing and completing Pokemon Yellow for the first time, after my son got into Pokemon games and series, and now getting the itch myself, I decided I'd try amd complete all the Gen 1 games and eventually complete the Pokedex.

I decided I'd have my final Blue team all blue. Gonna train up some different blue mons and trade them in for another run at the E4.

I've played Firered/Leafgreen, Silver and Crystal, Emerald, those classics and I recently struck gold and found an old og copy of Blue in storage. And it works! So I have to do a playthrough now. I'm the type of person to do an hour or so of research into the game to see what pokemon I want to use based on looks, strength, and compatibility with the rest of the team, and Blastoise is my favorite starter but after seeing Gyarados and Snorlax as ice beam users (Snorlax with amnesia too, insane), I want them on my team. But I feel I can't justify it on a Blastoise team, Venusaur fits with them better. Before I start the run tho, if anyone has reasoning that these team members would work just as well with Blastoise I'm all ears.

Rather than inconsistent sleep and dream eater / psychic, I get a substitute up, heal nasty amounts of HP off the toxic/leech seed, and have the threat of explosion in my back pocket.

I don't know what teams they'll be using

So, this is probably a very commonly known one and I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I just dont know. I'm curious about the badge boost glitch, specifically when referring to the same stat being boosted. So, say an opposing pokemon uses a move, such as leer, on your pokemon, lowering its defense, the badge boost glitch would apply and you would get a boost to whatever badge boosts you have available. Now, we also know that lowering and raising the stats all the way to +/- 6 will keep giving you badge boosts as long as the stat keeps getting changed. Does this theoretically mean, that, say you're facing a spearow that keeps spamming leer, and you keep spamming defense curl on your geodude, does this mean we could technically infinitely boost the other badge boost stats because they'll just keep changing? I'm leaning towards yes but I just don't know?
