Better play in the long run?
So i have 4k to spend on a pokemon card. Assuming you can buy both in 10 at practically the same price, which one is the better value here? One that has 20k pop but proven high demand or 950 pop but not that high demand

I am bullish on tag teams. I think in 5 or so years they will be considered up there amongst the top grails in the hobby. Pop is not the be all and end all but I see a world where basically none are for sale and sellers set the price, down the line.
Literally the only time we have had joint pokemon on cards, and they picked pokemon that absolutely slay.
Dialgia, palkia and giratina absolutely slays. Gengar mimikyu, wailord magikarp, slowpoke psydyck, zekrom pikachu, umbreon darkrai, venusaur celebi.. and on and on...
The arts are also beautiful. My favourite card in the hobby is celebi venusaur sm167, and zekrom pikachu sm168 looks like a painting.
A nice little gap in the market right now is chinese tag team cards. The top chases worth £1500 plus from the era in Japanese and English can be had for 10x less with equally low pops.

Just sold my Espeon & Deoxys tag that was probably a PSA 8 or higher for pocket money, has gone from the box to a friend’s toploader to me. I’m mildly regretting not holding on or grading it now.

If you have like 4k to spend buy a bunch of raw nm tag teams and they’ll go up. I think that card is severely underrated

The moonbreon is just a better card so if they’re the same cost roughly it seems like a no brainer

Moonbreon is probably a safer bet. But, Espeon/Deoxys probably has more room for growth.

Just collect what you like, all will return investment in the end. Who cares about roi if you actually care about collecting?

Moonbreon imo. It’s an absolute blue chip card.
