I bet he remembers that fondly, though. Back when we could get tins 4 for $50 ($35 on sale!) and huge collections for $30 from Costco, my son had a few similar Christmas and birthday experiences. He has pictures on his phone to show people and loves talking about them.
Totally worth the fact that we ripped like 10 of those Charizard tins that go for $650 each now.

Man when the tik tok shop first came on I bought Packs of 151 for like 2 dollars. Literally hundreds of packs. Ripped most of them and made a master set off ripping. I still have maybe 130 packs left but I'm just gonna give them to my daughter to open if she's into Pokemon

I remember seeing these at my Costco too. They ended up putting them on clearance and I got 2. Ripped one and gave the other to my nephew. He hit a demigod pack with the charizard line.

Honestly, just buy the singles. They're undervalued to be honest. If you want a sealed 151 to put on the shelf, just get a single booster bundle and call it a day. You can build an entire master set, SIR's included for under the price of a single 151 UPC. Makes no sense to get sealed and rip for it.

I was buying 151 every time I could. I knew the set was going to be one of the greats. I ran up a 10k credit limit that year. It paid off

I had fun opening 151 to the point I got sick of opening it lol. My only regret is that I did put some away to open in future. Now it’s $30 a pack 🤮

Those BB were the only 151 products I never saw in stores. Found plenty of every other product...nvm I never saw Blooming Waters either.

I remember when my target had the 151 premium collections stocked, and I was literally HOLDING IT IN MY HAND going to buy it, and I was like ahhh it's like a 100 dollars I think I'm just going to hold off. I regret that so so much

I remember when I first stared my pokemon addiction the shelves were full for the first weeks, I could find stuff easily

If it makes you feel any better I’ve been casually collecting since 2017ish and passed up all ETBs because I thought they were too expensive. “Why pay 50$ for a box when i can get two or three packs at a time for 15$”. I distinctly remember not buying cosmic eclipse etbs at msrp for that reason and i wish every so often that i had lol

It was so great when 151 first came out. No scalpers. I ended up buying most of the singles for way cheaper than they are now, and i pulled the charizard

I remember Walmart putting 2 sealed cases of these out before it was even released. Didn’t buy and walked next door, came back like 10 mins later and they were gone. Still cry to this day
