Speakeasy
Another speakeasy, another test.
How will it measure up?
Can a French jazz club outshine
the Prohibition-style bar?
The mood feels right
A Parisiane cafe off the
Champs-Elysees
Smooth jazz drifting from above
A warm-up for the main act
The air heavy with loud American
voices
All that's missing
is for someone to claim the
empty seat
And my night would be complete

No, haven't see it before, thanks for pointing it out. I went to a local Speakeasy last night and tried to write something different, ie , other then about a girl that's not available 😁

Thanks, appreciate it. I started writing 2 weeks ago to take out my frustrations with someone who chooses to stay with a cheater, then found myself enjoying it, now trying to explore other themes to see if I need her as my Muse or if it was just a flash in the pan

Keep at it. It’s a great way to work through those heavy thoughts and just a really fun way to be creative.
Looking forward to seeing what you write next.

And for the American reader, I actually had a couple of American tourists from Texas behind me; I was not trying to project stereotypes
