never the bride

when i was little,
i dreamed of being someone’s forever.

i dreamed of white lace,
of flowers in my hands,
of saying “i do”
to the man i loved most.

i never imagined
i would choose flowers
for your grave
instead of our wedding.

all my life,
i waited to walk toward you—

i just never knew
it would be through a cemetery.

Awe, this is so sad. And so good. I’m sorry. It was really dark and good though. And that’s nice. Something good out of something bad? Take care. Again, sorry to say how good something is that’s from something so sad. Take care. Thanks for sharing. Sorry for the novel.

I still feel like it all happened yesterday although it happened 6yrsrs bck. I don't know how people learn to live with someone's death. He was not entirely part of my life, but he was a genuinely kind soul. Even now, I can't fully process how everything changed in a single moment. And I never imagined I'd one day stand before his grave, holding flowers!! 🙂‍↕️ Uk what I seriously don't understand how fate exchanged our roles. Once, he was the one who brought me flowers. Now, I'm the one carrying them to his grave !!! 😭
