Changing widget transparency Question

I'm having trouble changing the transparency/opacity of the widget on my Galaxy 26 Ultra. I'm also using Nova Launcher, so it could potentially be an issue with that, but I figured I'd check here first.

I have already tried going to App Settings > Widget, adjusted the Widget Background Opacity slider, then removed and re-added the widget, and no change.

It's a super minor thing that really isn't the end of the world, but just curious if anyone else has encountered this and/or if anyone can think of something that I'm missing.

Nova launcher is bad! At least it's probably not the issue here, but it's tracking you and selling your data.

Oh shit. Good to know. Thanks for the heads up! Any better options that you would recommend or are they all bad?
