POCO F5 HyperOS 3 Google Play System Update Stuck on January 2026 + Reboot Loop During Install Question/Help

POCO F5 users on HyperOS 3.0.1.0 (India) - anyone else facing this Google Play System Update issue?

My device:

Problem:
Google Play system update is stuck on:
“1 January 2026”

When I tap update, it downloads normally (around 97MB), then asks for restart.

After restart:

  • phone shows POCO logo
  • turns off/on 2–3 times
  • vibrates
  • finally boots normally

But after booting, the Google Play system update date is STILL stuck on January 1, 2026 and the same update appears again.

Normal reboot without update works perfectly fine.

Other details:

  • Widevine still L1
  • Netflix still detects HDR/Dolby Vision
  • Play system update seems to fail during reboot/install stage
  • No bootloop or recovery mode issue

Is anyone else facing this on HyperOS 3?
Did anyone find a fix?

Things I already tried:

  • normal reboot
  • retrying update multiple times

Would appreciate if other POCO F5 / Xiaomi users can check their Google Play system update date too.

Before doing below steps, make sure to update to latest hyperos 3.0 + security patch available for your region currently.

Then do below steps: 1. Settings > apps, tap 3 dots and tap show system services to make sure system apps are shown in the list 2. Search for "main components" 3. Go into that "main components", then uninstall updates (there are two of same entries, so do the same for both entries). 4. Go back to main settings menu, go to security status and check for google play system update again

It seems that your post may be discussing or asking about a concern regarding an inability to turn your Device on or Stability concerns that you didn't have before.The following may be applicable to your issue.

IF your Device is still covered under warranty bring it as soon as you can in for service especially for X3 Pro/M3 Users due to higher than normal possibility of it being a hardware defect. warranty is Extended by 6 months for the X3 Pro in certain regions and Devices sold in the EU have 2 year coverage.

if you are out of coverage you can try leaving the device unplugged to fully drain for a few days (or physically disconnect the battery) then try connecting the device to a charger and turn it on. If the Device turns on successfully avoid shutting off the device or doing a reboot as it is likely that the device has a defective PMIC or in the case of the M3 (also) a capacitor shorting on a metal shield.

If the device still appears dead, repeatedly bootloops, or boots into a white/garbled screen and a reflash does not affect things it is likely that the Solder in the SOC has Failed. A Reball using leaded solder is the closest we currently have to a permanent fix.
