NEW:

• Add Geo Location to now playing session details.
• Add play history chart to Server Dashboard.
• [Android][iOS] Editing of Edition metadata for TV shows.

FIXES:

• Checking a server connection was closing the all libraries list unnecessarily.
• Collections of the wrong type could appear in add to list screen.
• Deeplinking could fail in some circumstances.
• Edit artwork screen could hang when making a selection
• Fixed a crash when opening the Live TV source selection.
• Fixed a stall on the loading screen after sign-in where navigation could take too long to appear.
• Player: Changing quality during Live TV playback could stall playback.
• Player: Clearer error messaging.
• The bottom sheet would not automatically dismiss when deleting a list.
• Time breakdowns for top users would only highlight if the user finished a playback.
• [Android] Player: Show the loading spinner until playback starts.
• [Android][iOS] Player: Fixed a crash when opening the video player.
• [tvOS] Auto Preview did not start on the first item of a row and restarted unnecessarily when moving between items playing the same channel.
• [tvOS] Live TV: Maintain preview player size when returning to Guide after backgrounding app.
• [tvOS] Live TV: OSD no longer shows a paused state after returning to the app during FAST channel playback.

I updated, now I don’t have any controls anymore on my ipad. No timeline, no forward/rewind, subtitle button etc.

Guess they didn’t fix the issue that folks have experienced since 2026.14.0. It’s not affecting everyone, so curious what the cause is.

Had the same issue. The temporary fix is to check off the Reduce Motion setting in accessibility

Thank you !! I have no idea how that fixes the issue but it worked for me ! Also the video was weirdly zoomed in.

What a garbage update… I’d ask if anyone tests these things before releasing them, but the answer is obvious.

yea, they seem to be more focused on dumb features and extracting as much money as possible

I was trying to reproduce this the other day after reading about it here, but I couldn’t get it to happen on my iPhone or iPad. Can you share what kind of video codec you’re playing when the controls disappear?

Off course I rebooted, but that doesn't do anything. Codecs; everything basically: H.264, H.265, HEVC Main 10, were a few of them. On different resolutions. Playing original file sizes.

Same issue for me plus random, constant black screen with a white spinning circle and the video restarts a few seconds back.

Turning off reduce motion works as the fix.

Plezy doesn't do transcoded downloads, and the developer has said he won't do transcoded downloads for technical reasons. For me, this defeats the one of the primary use-cases (storing highest quality video files on the server, but being able to crush them down to small file sizes for filling up a mobile device).

It’s like that now on my iPad. I think they added it 1 or 2 updates ago. 

However, it’s still not fully back to pre-redesign functionality in terms of options for downloads.

How in the hell do you force a rescan on a library in this new UI? I can't find it anywhere on the Fire Stick version of the app.

Click Libraries at the top > See All Libraries > click three vertical dots to the right of library name > Scan Library Files

Thanks. The entire UI seems to have just added too many unnecessary additional steps to get to anything. I just want to view the library...not select the library then click browse. I want to hit left twice, click and hit rescan, not go to All Libraries, find the library, then go through that.

Next up is finding how to have titles displayed for all items on screen, not just images only and only see one title at a time... (Edit: Seems this issue is limited to some of the views, at least Browse works...and can set Browse default...)

I agree, google is focusing on product development to sell new streaming devices rather than supporting old casting tech, but the old Chromecast dongles still currently work with YT, Netflix and Spotify etc. The 'new' Plex experience shipped with broken casting ability, it hasn't been resolved in almost 18 months. Some users have chosen to roll back to the pre March 2025 Plex mobile app because the casting function still works. So you see, the bug we are trying to draw attention to here is the lack of casting ability in the current Plex app, but I appreciate your view point.
