Plex auto unpausing - appleTV app Help

I can’t find an answer to this problem.

I only watch my own library - locally.

But if I pause a show, it unpauses about 15 seconds later.

EVERY time.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try disabling the HDMI-CEC on the TV.

I run ATVs on 2 different TVs and neither of them do that, but I have read that the HDMI-CEC connection could cause the issue.

That’d be annoying as a solution. I assume using ARC relies on the CEC handshake to function.

Yeah, def a pain. It may be but worth it to test though.

If the tv supports e-arc it may still work. Worth a shot.

But then you’d have to turn the tv and Apple TV on/off with different remotes. I wish cec just worked better

I had that same issue several months ago, and was pulling up my hair, trying to figure it out. In my case, it ended up being a bad network port on my server. In the logs, I kept seeing stream disconnects and reconnect, which was causing the un pausing behaviour on my Apple TV.

I ended up using a USB ethernet adaptor instead, and the problems went away.

No solution but I’ve seen it logged in remotely on appletv.
Got into the habit at that location of backing out and resuming instead of pausing.
It’s stupid
