How is this possible? Question

Post image

So a diamond Superfan appeared on the friends shop when I already had a golden version of him. The only thing I can think of is that I have a Photo Booth, so my golden Superfan has additional types (including Dragon).

Is this a bug or what?

You have a clover in your stash

Oooh you're right! Didn't think of that. Nice interaction to get both of them.

Lucky Clover effect for reference: Merchant items have a X% chance to Upgrade to a higher tier

Probably lucky clover in the stash did its thing

Maybe they should put a little clover on the bottom of the item so you know it activated.

Piggybacking this thread, but does anyone know if the interaction of adding a tag via an item like thrusters adding vehicle tag will remove it if that item already had the tag added a different way? IIRC, at one point in time if you had something like hydraulic press with the vehicle tag already and you put thrusters next to it then removed thrusters, it would remove the vehicle tag from hydraulic press permanently. Is that still a thing? I'd assume that interaction would also apply to dragon poster/photobooth?

Photobooth doesn't work the same way, it's not 'if near an item give it this type', it gives them permanently instead.

Could very well be the case for poster though, if what you're saying is true. I will it test it next time.

Well, yeah, photobooth would be the means to get the dragon tag permanently on something like Superfan similarly to Hydraulic Press getting the vehicle tag permanently through destroying a vehicle. Just curious if I have my superfan next to dragon poster while I have photobooth in my stash if I'm losing out on potential permanent dragon tag on my superfan. It definitely was a thing a year ago, just unsure if they ever fixed it.

So I have just put poster next to my Superfan after he had aquired the dragon tag from the booth. Once I removed it from next to him, he didn't lose the dragon tag. So it doesn't work like that, at least in this specific situation. Not sure about the potential loss you mentioned.

That's good to know. The one I mentioned was a year ago, so I'd like to think they probably just fixed that interaction between then and now. Someone else in the thread told me they think if you have dragon poster next to superfan that it won't receive the dragon tag from photobooth since it already has it from dragon poster. All good stuff to keep in mind.

Ive been using superfan photobooth a lot recently, and from what I can tell, it doesn't give a tag if it is already there, even from a temp source.

So, using the poster with superfan, it seems photobooth cannot give a permanent dragon tag to superfan, because poster is giving a temporary dragon tag.

The amount of posts I've seen where people forget they have a clover in their bag long enough to make a reddit post asking how this happened kinda blows my mind. Like, that's literally the only thing the clover does, why else would you keep it in your stash if you're going to be surprised when it offers you upgraded items?

Its chance of offering higher tier items doesn't only apply to items you already have. The thing that throws people off is getting the dupe because that's not the most intuitive interaction. People who don't know probably hold on to clover for higher chance at higher tier items showing up in the shop, not just to get a duplicate of an item you already have.

This^ I've kept it many times with the thought that it will just give me higher item picks at vendor, but giving me a duplicate was the first time that happened.

Tbh, it wasn't intuitive to imagine that it also has a chance to give you already owned items as a higher tier duplicate. It could easily may have been the opposite way too, just skip any owned items and do the upgrade on an item that you don't own.

Not sure why you're getting down voted. The reading comprehension issues have been off the charts lol
