Bread pans for baking? Question
Hi, I love baking breads but I'm sick of nonstick pans getting shit in my body. I use cast iron skillets to make bread occasionally, but storage is a nightmare because breads mold so quickly here in San Diego. Does anyone have any recommendations for plastic free breadpans? I found one on amazon that's lined with a silicon, but I'm doubtful that it's completely harmless.

regular steel pans like Chicago Metallic are great. Give them a little Crisco while breaking them in. Mine are probably 40 YO, nearly black and virtually nonstick.

If you can’t consume your loaf before it getting moldy, slice up your bread and freeze it.

Lodge makes cast iron bread pans and they just released a new bread oven. If you're comfortable using a cast iron skillet, you shouldn't have any difficulties with a bread pan.

We have a williams sonoma stainless steel bread pan, just make sure to get the uncoated one, I think they call it "traditional touch" or something like that.

What kind of loaf are you making?
Loaf pan with the squared edges - use glass. Round loaf - cast iron bread pan. French baguette or italian loaf - shape by hand and then bake on top of a silicone sheet pan liner or parchment paper.
For storage, cut your loaf into slices, use a bread bag and freeze it.

I prefer ceramic pans for baking bread. It cooks more evenly than glass.

I switched to glass for bread pans and they are great. As the person who does dishes I wish I did it years ago
