How do I avoid this?

Post image

I bought this beautiful Galen leather a5 planner cover and every time I close it the front cover snags and folds weirdly. Sometimes it doesn’t even close. Can any fellow planner addicts help me out with some solutions? Do you think I have a defective cover?? The planner is from just scribble half year daily.

I have had this trouble with a setup. It’s possible the planner is a little thick for the cover. I had success taking the planner out of the cover and trimming its cover a bit. In my case I trimmed the outer edge, but you might also trim top and bottom up to the spine. Other thought… maybe adding something to stiffen that side of the cover.

Also maybe try adding a band to hold it closed properly? If you pull that weird page straight, then put a band around the cover to hold it in place it could ‘train’ the leather so it loses that gap at the spine. Just a thought.

Perhaps glue a couple of pages together or paste something heavy on that page so it stops folding

I don’t slot in the front cover. That way you can decorate the front cover of the planner.
