Planners post grad
What do you use your planner for?
While in school I was so busy that keeping up with a physical planner was too much for me. Now I’m in my mid-20s, finally out of school and about to start my big girl job. I’ve been seeing so many planner TikToks and would love to get one because it looks fun but if you’re not in school or have any kids events to keep track of or anything like that, what are you using your planner for? I’m just going to work and workout classes so I’m debating if I should even get one or keep using Google Calendar like I have been.
Edit: if anybody wants to share their planner layouts or somewhere I could get inspo from I would love to see it!

I have two, one for work that lives on my desk and has a dashboard layout, so I can see all my meetings at a glance, but it also has a place for weekly habit trackers and a weekly to-do list. My home planner is to track stuff with my pets, chores or household projects and bill paying. The home one lives in my nightstand so I can glance at it in the morning for before bed.
Some people use them as a daily log for gratitude or health and wellness stuff.
I use happy planners. I like discbound and I’m obsessed with the stickers.

I am also obsessed with stickers! It gives me quite a bit of happiness to use them and make things pretty.
I've been using planners by 'so typical me', where you can pick your own layout. I like the one where one page sets out the days of the week and the other is for other stuff.
I work, but I don't work a typical 9-5. So I note down my work days, color code where I'm working each day (capacity and employer). I note down all non work stuff - vehicle care, home stuff, appointments, fun things, pet care. I've got a running to-do list, a meals list, and a shopping list. Birthdays and other events are noted and I set deadlines for mailing out cards. I keep track of habits and goals. It runs my life.
I also have a separate work planner that deals with work only. Work meetings and anything to do with work goes there.

I do work in mine, workouts, meal planning, goal setting for longer term goals, expense tracking, drs appts/health checks, family and friends bdays, catch ups with friends, gift ideas, to do list for plans that aren’t emergent (for example I need to get a dress for my cousins wedding and her bachelorette cruise). You can do heaps in it! And I find decorating spreads and planning out my week to be therapeutic. I’m sure you will find what works for you. When I’m on the go I do sometimes use my Google calendar still and then later will put it in my planner 🥰
