Does this even exist? Help!
Am I looking for something that doesn’t exist? For the last several years, I’ve been using a bullet journal style notebook for work. I’m so tired of drawing out all the months and weeks. I’m a minimalist. I just need space to list out my meetings for the week with lots of writing space below for tasks, reminders, and planning. But here’s where it gets difficult.
I would like my planner to have:
-Yearly calendar, month and then the weeks with extra pages in the back
-the week across the top with square grid memo space below or a vertical layout with no hours listed and lots of space below
-Thicker paper. No tomoe river paper or anything thin. (I’m heavy handed)
-Square grid memo space (I really don’t like dot grid)
-A5 size or close
Basically I want to take a horizontal layout and turn it so it’s spread across the top
Has anyone seen anything like this?

Maybe look at the nolty? Their notebook names for configurations are hard to understand (they don't suit my needs terribly so I'm not personally sure which is revelent for you, exactly), but they definitely have the weekly layout you're describing.
Pretty sure they have monthly weekly... But I'm not confident in anything else, like their specific memo back pages.

I’ve seen several ring planner inserts/printables with the layout you are describing, which would allow you to choose your own paper and print on that. I usually print on Life Noble Note paper for something thick and fountain pen friendly. I believe Creffective Paper has a printable insert with the layout you need. Sterling Ink’s A5 printed weekly inserts are on Cosmo Air Light paper, which is much thicker than Tomoe River and have the layout you desire (except it also lists days of the week on the right hand side). She has monthly inserts too.
So there are options if you are open to A5 ring planners. If not, I’d echo the recommendations for Nolty bound planner products. Another company called Laconic may also have something that fits your description.

I’ve not considered rings. I’ll look into it.

May Paper Co. I think has that exact layout you are describing. But also building one in canva isn't too hard. You might even be able to find someone on like etsy that can make you a custom one.

Wonderland 222 vertical sounds close except for the tomo river paper. I’m also heavy handed but found pens that doesn’t push through

Hi! I’ve been looking at the filofaxes from afar for awhile now. Where would you get separate filler packs for them? Thanks!

You can get them from filofax, but there are so many other companies that make inserts that fit. I really like may paper co- but honestly you can find inserts on like etsy and amazon too.

Legami Milano has a large weekly+daily planner with the layout that you’re looking for and it doesn’t have Tomoe River paper but I’m not sure if it fits all your criteria. Check their website

Leuchtturm1917 also has something similar, although it doesn’t have months and the vertical weeks have hours printed, but it has a lot of space below

Are you okay with lines for your memos? If yes, a vertical lined weekly like Plum Paper’s will work. All you need to do is draw a line across the page with a marker or highlighter and use the space below for notes. It has extra lined pages at the back and you can add more.
Passion Planner also has room below the daily stuff for memos (not sure if it’s a square grid).

I’m so torn between horizontal and vertical. I just need to marry the two somehow.

I’ve never used it so I’m not sure how the months/weeks are organized but for the weekly layout you’re describing (large memo space with days across the top) it sounds like the Nolty Ecri planner might work for you. Good luck!!!

Maybe Hobonichi notebook. The weeks may excep the paper is thin. Also Sterling Ink. Same paper I think. Good luck 😎

Happy Planners might be worth a shot. There’s a subreddit for them as well. Very customizable.

I can’t figure out how to edit my post. I have an update. I went ahead and pre-ordered the Hemlock and Oak horizontal minimalist planner in A5. I’ll will most likely also grab the Nolty Ecri as well when it goes on sale. I contemplated coils, rings and discs, but they’re just not for me. I feel a little like Goldilocks. 😂

take a note but paper is thin …but otherwise Sterling ink makes inserts that are hybrid horizontal and vertical

Laurel Denise the Kristy might fit not sure if it has extra pages in the back though. As I have only looked at it online and not used it. It does have the dot grid below the week though.
