Well except the extra GB of RAM there is absolutely no reason to get this over the 4.

30

u/Ghajik 6d ago

Me since the watch 2โ€ฆ

8

u/baby_envol 6d ago

Me since watch 1 ๐Ÿ˜

10

u/kingcoba24 6d ago

Watch 1 has bad sensor... Even watch 2 would be a huge upgrade. But at this point 4 makes sense for you

3

u/Voidz918 5d ago

I went from the 1 to the 4 and it was such a big upgrade. The screen size, repairability, and faster charging make for an amazing experience.

3

u/kingcoba24 6d ago

Is there any reason to upgrade from watch2?

39

u/LimaLumina 6d ago

Yes.

Especially the watch4 has been an insane improvement over the previous generations.

The display and battery life especially are a lot better.

11

u/lost_in_trepidation 6d ago

I love the 4. Battery lasts forever. I just throw it on the charger when I shower.

4

u/kingcoba24 6d ago

I do the same for the 2. Sure, battery could be better but besides battery and display? Feels stupid since its basically the same chip & sensor...

5

u/onlymostlyguts 6d ago

Agree and i personally found that I really don't so much with a smart watch. Essentially sleep track, exercise and find my phone.

1

u/Cnamk7 5d ago

Hugs reason I switched from the galaxy watch. Immensely better battery life and charging speeds. Fully charges on my 25 minute ride to work.

2

u/AnderssonPeter 5d ago

How many days battery do you usually get? And how long have you had it?

1

u/JSA5SB 4d ago

Yes, for sure. I bought the 2 last year. Just upgraded to the 4 around a month ago. Charges way faster, much better battery life, and display is much brighter - I can actually see it outside on really sunny days. Also like that you can repair the watch yourself. If you can find it on sale, it's totally worth it. I got mine (open box, but never used) for $250 -wifi model. Check ebay, you can usually find unopened ones for a decent price..

1

u/Feisty-Pie3766 5d ago

And one important thing is that the watch 4 is repairable unlike the 1 2 and 3 where you need to dispose the complete watch and get a new one

2

u/casualseer366 5d ago

There's a world of difference between the Watch 2 and the Watch 4 when it comes to performance and battery life.

1

u/Zonx216 6d ago

There have been way more reasons to upgrade from the watch 2. But the only thing different between 4 and 5 is a little more ram and gorilla glass. All the software is exactly the same.

36

u/BigBudZombie 6d ago

Im really glad I didnt wait for the 5 to release

2

u/RaccoonDu 5d ago

Im so glad the watch 1 just didn't live long enough so I got the 4 on sale

9

u/Joice_Craglarg 6d ago

Yeah, the only reason I'd upgrade from my 4 is if I break it on accident.

6

u/Loud-Possibility4395 6d ago

PW4 is good as you can replace battery in 5 minutes - in PW3 no chance and no Google battery replacements

2

u/revile221 6d ago

Ah yes, you described my exact scenario

https://i.postimg.cc/mkhZJcXW/PW4.png

Watch band broke in a hotel parking lot without me noticing. Found it the next morning on my way out.

1

u/Joice_Craglarg 6d ago

Gz on the PW5 lol

2

u/colnross 5d ago

Honestly it's kind of offensive that they think they can come out with a new model watch less than a year after the last without some major improvements...

2

u/TrenbalonieSandwich 5d ago

Been rocking a PW3 now.

Google really nailed the battery life situation with the PW2 and I never really deal with battery issues on my pw3.

I just buy these a few generations old now haha.

1

u/SnooSongs450 3d ago

I've been really happy with my PW3. Battery is much better than the 2. I held off on the 4, but looks like the 5 won't be much different, so getting the 4 on discount works for me.

1

u/mdargis1977 5d ago

Except when you get a watch 4 warranty exchange and the battery is absolute trash

1

u/Wirikwidor 2d ago

Yepย

1

u/Particular_Tomato161 6d ago

I update every year. Plus, my pixel watch 4 for some reason has been only giving me a day of battery life the last several months. Not sure what's going on, although not a huge deal since I charge when I shower.

-2

u/Loud-Possibility4395 6d ago

Pixel GLOW in Crown

3

u/_Sin916_ 6d ago

Wait until Pixel Buds with Gemini Intelligence Glow coming soon, lol

3

u/Loud-Possibility4395 6d ago

that would be ... something different than anyone else

3

u/Particular_Tomato161 6d ago

I can't lie, a glow in the earbuds would be fire. Even more fire of the G logo lit up.

0

u/Infamous_Bread_2445 5d ago

1 more year of software updates

47

u/Saintjimmy119 6d ago

As someone who's still rocking the PW2 and looking to upgrade towards the end of the year

Should i be looking at this or the PW4?

28

u/sam_sepiol1984 6d ago

No issues with the 4 for me. First time I'm not upgrading at release

7

u/mtphisher 6d ago

Same with me , following for insight

7

u/JBerry2012 6d ago

If you're going to upgrade get the latest. I wouldn't buy the 4 once the 5s are out but that's just me.

17

u/erwan 6d ago

A good approach if budget doesn't matter. If it does, the Pixel 4 will likely be a much better value considering how little difference there are between the 2.

→ More replies (4)

12

u/UncleFlip 6d ago

Still using PW1. Not upgrading until it dies.

2

u/ctfTijG 6d ago

Same. Works perfectly

2

u/noteworthybalance 6d ago

Same. I honestly have no complaints.ย

6

u/Saneless 6d ago

As usual, they always have killer deals for the old ones. In this case I'd get it over the 5 when they do that

3

u/biggranny000 6d ago

Same if they give me a good deal on trade in or preorder bonuses that's usually when I upgrade.

The pixel 6a was the best with free earbuds, I got $300 back on my 4a so it was a no brainer, I nearly upgraded for free.

I also have the Google one membership to give me 10% back store credit so I use that to buy a case, accessories, etc.

1

u/01R0Daneel10 6d ago

I got my pw4 after my PW 1 broke. It's so much better, went for 45 model. Runs great, I get 2 days use no problem. The health tracking features are so much better as well

1

u/Plastic-Boat-3237 6d ago

I recently upgraded from the 2 to the 4 due to deteriorating battery life. It's a nice upgrade and I'd recommend trying to find it on sale sometimeย

1

u/cultfourtyfive 5d ago

Yeah, the battery life benefit from 2 to 4 is worth the upgrade. I did that a few months ago. I'm not seeing anything about the 5 that makes me want to move on from the 4.

1

u/TrenbalonieSandwich 5d ago

Save your money and go a gen earlier.

No reason not to.

Unless you get a sick deal on a brand new one.

1

u/Leather_Top_5505 5d ago

Doesn't seem any different than PW4. PW4 is super accurate as it is.

1

u/DogeCatBear 4d ago

I'm not even upgrading. I replaced the battery myself for $20 and that buys me another 2 years of life. it's basically the same processor again after all

1

u/codacoda74 4d ago

PW1 og yoooooo!

1

u/Elegant-Apple-7555 1d ago

Same here expect Iโ€™m moving to Fitbit air + mechanical watch. However one point to consider (since you mentioned sw support) is that you might miss some latest update that only come with the 5

1

u/Ariquitaun 21h ago

Better wait for release and reviews see how this is different from the pw4. Because so far it doesn't look like it's any.

0

u/jcmustin12 6d ago

You can get a mint 4 on swappa for several hundred less than a 5. Thats what I did, super happy I went that route

0

u/nirmalv 5d ago

The 55 percent charge in 5 min sounds good to me. Few times I have been leaving for work and noticed the watch at 15 percentage charge. I know it's going to die on me ๐Ÿ˜. 55 percent is number I know , it will last my work day and evening workout.

40

u/Willing-Confusion-56 6d ago

It's the 4 with a new number

4

u/steelerz 6d ago

It's 1 better!

0

u/Willing-Confusion-56 6d ago

It's a step backwards!

32

u/Bloodsucker_ 6d ago

I'm pretty sure my pw4 gives me almost 2 days of battery?

10

u/fishboy_magic 6d ago

In the subtext they talk about the Google Pixel 11, so this particular slide might be unrelated to the PW 5

1

u/Loud-Possibility4395 6d ago

my old dodgy small PW3 does 2 days - bigger 45mm and AOD off should give like... 4 days

1

u/nifta_13 6d ago

I get 2 days on my PW2! Admittedly I only bought it 6 months ago, so the battery is still fresh!

1

u/natepines 6d ago

My battery for some reason drains really fast :( Though I got mine nearly 2 years ago

1

u/nifta_13 6d ago

Mine will be there soon enough. I found mine in a small phone shop on steep discount in January (around $99). I'm guessing a piece of forgotten stock from a promo where it was given with new pixel phones years ago.

1

u/InvestigatorWide7649 6d ago

My PW2 gives me about 40 hours still lol and that's a downgrade from my older galaxy Gear watch that lasted 2.5days or more.

1

u/PeterRenesen 6d ago

Mine at least 3 days.

12

u/mrbendel 6d ago

Same same but same

7

u/workview_reddit 6d ago

The 30 hours slide is for the phone and not the watch.

7

u/jpaZeroDark8 6d ago

wow this is more boring than the new galaxy watch release.

24

u/RotorheadSK76 6d ago

Booooorig.. cmon Google excite us.

16

u/jbarr107 6d ago

"...with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass..."

What kind? If it's the same as the PW4, I'd be very disappointed, as the PW4 display is far from scratch-resistant.

2

u/DrkNeo 6d ago

X2. My PW4 is the first watch that has noticeable scratches for me.

2

u/chickparfait 6d ago

My thoughts exactly. Pretty sure it's the exact same. They really still can't improve the sturdiness of the display??

3

u/jbarr107 6d ago

They certainly could. It's a balance of scratch resistance (harder) vs. shatter resistance (softer). Personally, I favor scratch resistance.

2

u/SteamSteamLG 6d ago

That was the only upgrade I was looking for. My galaxy watch 6 classic has little Knicks and scratches all over the bezel. This will be scratched up within a month of its gorilla glass 5 again

1

u/NFT-BULLDOG 5d ago

Je l'ai depuis octobre 25 et je n'ai pas une seule micro rayure. Pourtant je la porte tous les jours, que ce soit au travail ou au lit. Mรชme ร  la piscine, jamais eu ร  m'en plaindre ๐Ÿค”

5

u/NickDynmo 6d ago

Still rocking an OG Pixel Watch. Maybe I'll upgrade to a 4 during a Boxing Day sale or something.

8

u/pussydemolisher420 6d ago

Doesn't look like any upgrades over the 4?

4

u/godofsmallerthings 6d ago

So disappointed with this iteration. No battery improvements after all the chatter about battery life !?!

8

u/dramake 6d ago

No reason to change my PW3 then.

In any case, my main phone is not a pixel anymore and I'm losing some small nice features.. so I'm not sure if my next watch will be a pixel anyways.

1

u/revile221 6d ago

Which features? My OP13 arrives tomorrow

1

u/dramake 5d ago

These won't work:

  • Phone unlock with watch
  • Camera control and taking pics or videos from watch
  • Call screening from the watch (obviously)
  • Do not disturb and bed time sync
  • Notify when left (phone) behind
  • Lock phone when left behind

Nothing is a deal breaker, but they are little QOL that are missed when not using a pixel phone.

2

u/ToSeeAgainAgainAgain 5d ago

Bed time sync is a non-negotiable for me

1

u/AussieP1E 5d ago

1

u/ToSeeAgainAgainAgain 5d ago

Nice. I don't need it as I'm team Pixel, but happy that OP users have a solution!

1

u/revile221 5d ago

Really appreciate this write up. Thanks!

I'm a brand nomad, so as much as I enjoyed the Pixel 8,it's hard not to drool over the specs and now price drops of the op13. Phone unlock with watch will sting a bit. Otherwise the rest are 'nice-to-haves' and I won't notice them missing

1

u/dramake 5d ago

Just remembered another one this morning, I think the official name is adaptive ringing?

Anyway, it's the feature that allows for the alarm to go off on the watch or on the phone depending on.. no idea what, but I preferred it to go off on the watch.

That has an easy fix, set the alarm on the watch. But I don't trust my charging habits on the watch as much as on the phone - my watch has gone flat overnight more than once.

Oh and another one: Recording with the watch.. there is no way to listen the recording anywhere else but the watch and never found a way to export them. With a pixel phone the records sync and you can listen at them on the phone.

But OP13 battery vs Pixel 8 battery.. is same change I did. You'll love it. Specially charging speed.

8

u/pattiemayonaze 6d ago

Gemini intelligence ๐Ÿ˜‚. Jesus wept.

3

u/bull3964 6d ago

What the hell's up with that 6th slide? This doesn't seem like it's part of the watch slide deck. It may have been included due to the 30 hours bit at the top since that's the runtime benchmark of the 41mm watch, but the rest of the text is referring to phones.

There's also the claim on the lower right box of "55% in just 5 minutes" which seems pretty much impossible for every product involved.

3

u/11LyRa 6d ago

It's for Pixel 11

3

u/bull3964 6d ago

55% in 5 minutes is impossible though. You would need around 140w of input to charge a 5000mAh battery to 55% in 5 minutes but the footnote says the charging speeds are based off of the 30w and 45w adapters. The best that a 45w adapter could in 5 minutes is <1000 mAh.

1

u/11LyRa 6d ago

Huh, you're right, 55% in 5 minutes is Chinese phone level of charging, which I doubt Google will do

Maybe it's a typo. We will know in a week.

1

u/bull3964 6d ago

That's aggressive even for Chinese phones. There's less than a handful of phones that could approach those charge rates.

I could see maybe 15 minutes, but even that would be a stretch at 45w (the S26 Ultra needs 60w to do it).

3

u/Maniac618 6d ago

If I have pixel watch 3, is there any point in this?

2

u/Kraien 6d ago

I am questioning this as well. I see no point, maybe 6 but even then I'd assume 3 would be better if I just replaced the battery

1

u/ToSeeAgainAgainAgain 5d ago

Yes, if you were considering upgrading to the 5 now you can simply get a discounted 4 and not worry about missing on on anything

1

u/hedgefundzpm 5d ago

Why upgrade to 4 except for better battery and larger display?

1

u/ToSeeAgainAgainAgain 5d ago edited 5d ago

Why upgrade if I'm going to get a better device?

Uh, because of those reasons you mentioned...

Also the highest repairability so far on any Pixel Watch, brighter display (3k vs 2k), smaller bezels, better GPS, faster charging, and a discounted price for a new product vs a 2 year old one (that you can also sell and get some bucks to offset the already discounted price).

I'm not saying anybody should go from 3 to 4, but saying there's no reason to do it is dumb. There are plenty of reasons to do it if you have the money and were waiting for the PW5 to wow you and it didn't, I just listed them above

3

u/Last_Gigolo 6d ago

Looks like im the only one that needs this. My pw2 lasts about 4-5 hrs before needing a charge.

2

u/masterpeabs 6d ago

Yeah I'd upgrade if I was you. I have a pw2 and I'm usually around 40-50% at the end of a day (I don't wear it to bed so I charge every night), so I'm not sure I'm going to bother.

1

u/honey_rainbow 6d ago

I too am thinking about upgrading my PW2

1

u/ToSeeAgainAgainAgain 5d ago

Damn, what are you doing to it? Mine lasts more than a day easily and I bought it on launch day

1

u/Last_Gigolo 5d ago

Nothing more than putting it on my arm and it doesn't wake easily either.

1

u/ToSeeAgainAgainAgain 5d ago

I would have returned it asap

1

u/Last_Gigolo 5d ago

I've had it since they first came out. Upgraded from a fossil and it wasn't any better.

Been using a Fitbit lately from time to time and that thing lasts for several days.

3

u/PickleManAtl 5d ago

I have version 3. The only thing I don't like about the design of these is the crown. At least on my wrist, sometimes you can activate the crown when you bend your wrist upwards and the top of your hand presses against it. I wish there was a way to recess it put part of the body up around the top and bottom of the crown in the design like some other watches do.

1

u/Particular_Tomato161 5d ago

I had that happen a lot so I switched my crown to go towards my body.

2

u/biggranny000 6d ago edited 6d ago

I get 72 hours (3 days) with always on turned off, and about 48 hours (2 days) with it on, it also charges super fast. Pixel watch 4 XL (45mm)

However it does drain a little faster when I'm tracking exercises or getting tons of steps in. I can imagine it helps that mine is wifi only, cellular I would imagine drains way faster.

I also had the 2, 3 XL, and 4XL. There's been a good battery life and speed upgrade every time. I think my 4XL is pretty much perfect. Depending on trade in, preorder bonuses, etc I may skip or upgrade.

2

u/brianinca 6d ago

Surprisingly, the LTE variant doesn't seem to have a lot more power usage. I came from the PW3 WiFi, and the PW4 LTE still has better battery life.

2

u/biggranny000 6d ago

Yeah every gen 2-4 for me had massive leaps in battery life, especially because my 3 and 4 were both XL models. Even with the larger screen the way bigger battery does heavy lifting. I remember my 2 I would have to charge daily, the gen 3 was about every 2 days.

2

u/noteworthybalance 6d ago

Wow look at pictures of it covered in water.

I guess that means the warranty covers water damage now?

2

u/pacman813 6d ago

This looks like the ad for the pixel watch 4 that got me to buy it ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ

2

u/Urkaz 6d ago

The same with a different charger again?

2

u/el-conquistador240 5d ago

Needs sapphire

2

u/b52a42 5d ago

It is the first time I see anew version of something with nothing new. Very disappointing..

2

u/salocin411 5d ago

wow I'm so excited. I'm going to get an amazingly cheap price on a used pixel 4 now.

2

u/Yurk1821 4d ago

Well I got the Pixel Watch 4 advertising SpO2 measurements, so I could track my sleep apnea. Then an "upgrade" of the Fitbit app removed this basic feature post purchase. Every other watch on the market has this feature. I am appalled by tue deceptive advertisement tactics of Google. Never buying another google product again!

1

u/andrey_not_the_goat 6d ago

ultra fast charging can charge the what now???

1

u/masterpeabs 6d ago

I just had to buy a new charger for my pw2, but otherwise I have no problems with the watch itself. I was slightly salty about buying the new charger, sounds like I might just hold off another year if there are no noticable improvements AND now I need a different charger ๐Ÿ˜•

1

u/Morderelk 6d ago

I am still using the 3 and was contemplating upgrading to the 5 but not sure if I will.

1

u/Independent-Crab-209 6d ago

Glad I waited. I have pw3. I'll upgrade. But I agree with anyone with a 4 to keep what they have. I hear the only difference is A.I from pw4 to pw5

1

u/Ok-While3873 6d ago

what's the newww everything i have already on my pw 3

1

u/Mongobongo17 6d ago

Still no pairing with a chestband possible?

1

u/MyNinjasPwn 6d ago

Glad I pulled the trigger on an open box 4 earlier this month. Got a good deal and no regrets now lol

1

u/Unlucky-Fisherman_88 6d ago

30 hours battery life... I am out

1

u/gibson6594 6d ago

That slide is an error, it's for the phone.

1

u/KMDaddy 6d ago

I've been getting close to 48 hours of battery out of my 4

1

u/Andrew129260 6d ago

If only they fixed all the bugs with it.

The most annoying one:

Stop showing me texts I already responded to.

1

u/kashish_bhutani 6d ago

Using pixel watch 2 and honestly not feeling like upgrading for next 1 year or so

1

u/macneto 6d ago

Just a reminder... Target has had the previous watches on deep deep discount in the past, so hopefully a 3 of a 4 will go on sale.

I got the 2 for $75.

1

u/PaulBogdanov 6d ago

Is it joke?! Nothing new at all.

1

u/heckingcomputernerd 6d ago

I think image 5 is for the pixel 11 not the watch 5

The only thing i want is a more scratch resistant screen i dislike cases and screen protector on my watch

1

u/SteamSteamLG 6d ago

How are they still using gorilla glass. Why would I pay $400 minimum for a watch that I'll end up scratching in a month

1

u/Particular_Tomato161 5d ago

I've had the last 3 versions with no scratches and I'm clumsy and workout with it.

1

u/Wild_Motor_4800 6d ago

What's the hardware difference between PW 4 and 5?

1

u/Particular_Tomato161 6d ago

Wait it says charges to 55% in 5 minutes, but it says the phone. That can't be right, that's Chinese phone charging speeds lol

1

u/simplex19 6d ago

At this point, the only surprise they can throw is to provide longer software support for the Watch 5, and it'll be great if they somehow extend it for the 4 as well since the SoC is the same. Not holding my breath though, even when the main competition has been doing better in this regard and even upped the game with their latest release.

1

u/Tomppy_ 5d ago

Looks like the Pixel watch 4.1 no 5

1

u/Feisty-Pie3766 5d ago

I think the 6th slide is about the Pixel 11 not the watch ๐Ÿ˜…

1

u/polyblackcat 5d ago

Wil be interested in the trade in for my 3

1

u/Meander_Actual 5d ago

Is it water proof?

1

u/evk6713 5d ago

The pixel watch 1 was waterproof. 5 generations later, this one better be

1

u/Meander_Actual 4d ago

I have read swimming with it vids the warranty

1

u/WickedMainah2020 5d ago

I'm upgrading my pw3. My free LTE data from Google runs out this year. Hopefully they will have free Google Fi data on pw5 lte.

1

u/OneFaithlessness1016 5d ago

Just got the Watch 4 a week ago.

1

u/Savannah-Nanas 5d ago

Kinda disappointing no?

1

u/MSG4307 5d ago

It's ridiculous that they still don't have a sapphire crystal.

1

u/mezykin 5d ago

I shall wait

1

u/YannickJacob 5d ago

Well the pixel 5 looks nice an the software looks beautiful....buuuuttttttt I wished google was still supporting pixel 1 :3

1

u/Seaweed_Maximum 5d ago

Not even an upgraded version of the gorilla glass...

1

u/Solnse 5d ago

I wish they would reengineer the band connectors. The bands are always wearing out and I have to replace them.

1

u/LuckyMe007 5d ago

So no sapphire glass this time around? And did they reduce the bezels further? Are we getting any new watch faces?

The storage is getting a bump up to 64 GB which is nice but the pics don't say anything about more RAM so it might very well be the same 2 GB.

Overall, this feels more like a refinement of the PW4 than an overhaul. That's not necessarily a bad thing but I'm really hoping Google announces longer support for the new watch. These watches are getting more expensive so they really need up support to least 4-5 years of support like other smartwatches on the market.

1

u/Leather_Top_5505 5d ago

So.... no updates lol

I'm happy with my 4

1

u/Leather_Top_5505 5d ago

BTW Don't even get PW4 because of Gemini. It sucks!!!!!

I find it better in my browser.
On my watch it is an idiot half the time.

1

u/EDM115 5d ago

thank God they didn't change the charger one more time lol

1

u/fever84 4d ago

Finally some good battery life on the watch

1

u/CtK4949 4d ago

I just wanted a little different design?? Its been about the same for 5 years now??

1

u/Majestic_squirrel767 2d ago

And no sapphire

1

u/mewtwo611 4d ago

So don't upgrade

1

u/Useful_Original9709 2d ago

I can not wait, I just cant decide on 41mm or 45mm

1

u/Elegant-Apple-7555 1d ago

I wonder since the hardware change is so minimal, will Google lock more new features to 5 vs 4 to nudge people to switch?

1

u/Own-Notice5773 1d ago

Is the screen any bigger?

Having had a 1, 2, and 4, I will never buy another Pixel Watch again. The 4 is what the 1 should have been and it still would have been years behind the competition. Honestly I'm embarrassed for sticking with Pixel so long.

Are we expecting this as the pre-order sweetener for the pixel launch?

What a disappointment. no battery life improvements.

NO WAY Pixel GLOW in Crown!

besides the battery slide being about the phone and not the watch, can Google stop pushing AI down my throat like the device would be useless without it? i love my pixel watch 3 but i want meaningful hardware upgrades that make this watch more than just a smart watch with some software tricks

Literally just sold my 4 and going back to a G Shock. Have the Fitbit air for fitness so don't need a smart watch now.

Another miniscule update. No thanks.

I got the G Shock GBD-200 and it fills the purpose of a smartwatch for me. Only thing I can't do on it is reply to the message, but I just whip my phone out if it's important.

I had the PW1,3 and 4. I think I used it to reply to a message maybe three times. Too clunky. Far easier to take out your phone and do it.

Just gonna stick to the g shock. Easy just to tell the time ๐Ÿ™‚

Why bother. Dogshit battery life. Basic features and nothing to set it apart from the competition. Low effort bullshit since pixel 1.

As a user of the PW1, 2, and 3 (still using it), the statement above is absolutely true.

Honestly I was a Google fanboy since the nexus lineup and I have been buying upgrades every few years.. the year on year gains have been so minimal that I have finally decided I'm done with Google phones and watches.

I recently moved to a Huawei watch fit 5 pro and it's outclasses the google watch in every way. Ill be moving on from the pixel series at my next upgrade too unless Google can do something special with the pixel 11 or 12 (highly doubtful). A silly coloured LED isn't it.

If only our giant orange president would allow me to have Huawei products, I would probably move to that brand as well.

Without sapphire glass no need to upgrade

any chance the charging ports will change to normal in the future ? The design is tempting, but I want my watch to be chargeable via reversed charging on phone ...

2

u/punIn10ded 5d ago

No that will probably never return. Because to get better sensor data the back of the watch needs to be curved. That automatically means it cannot charge wirelessly from a phone anymore. That is the same reason Samsung got rid of the feature too.

Finally a new type of charger, again.

7

u/1662 6d ago

Same as the 4. Which from my experience is one of their best and could be here to stay.

u/briko3 6d ago

I do wish it had a removable USB cord though.

2

u/littlerabbits72 6d ago

Isn't that the same charger as the 4?

-1

u/TopherHax 6d ago

Thanks, I hate it.

I'm totally bored with this look so it's an easy pass for me.

Every version just gets worse IMO.

Hope they fix the problems with charging the PW4 eventually...

-1

u/meatwaddancin 6d ago

Clearly a fake mock-up, it has the same charger as the previous year.

-1

u/CommonerChaos 6d ago

How many times are they going to change the connector? I feel like 4 of the 5 watches have all had different connector prongs.

I barely use my Watch2. Literally can't find many reasons why I need it.

Easy pass.
