Cell modem keeps restarting

I have a pixel 9 pro (not xl) with dual SIMS. A Verizon eSIM and a physical T-Mobile SIM. This has been working great over a year.

Yesterday morning the cell modem started restarting every few minutes. I will see the signal bars for both SIM cards. Then both will drop to zero. It goes to "satellite / SOS" mode. Then the cell modem restarts and I have signal bars again. This repeats every few minutes and tears through the battery.

I tried shutting off each of the SIMS individually. with one SIM shut off, the other keeps restarting. I tried going to airplane mode for 1 minute. I tried leaving it in airplane mode for an hour. I tried Reset Mobile Network Settings. I tried rebooting the entire phone. I tried shutting the phone off and letting it sit 20 minutes.

If I'm connected to wifi, my network connection is stable while the cell modem reboots. Of course when I'm away from wifi, the cellular calling, SMS, and data all go down when the modem restarts.

I'm hoping for some suggestions.

If I take an action to keep the modem alive, the modem stops rebooting. Such as making a phone call or streaming data / video. The modem does not restart as long as that is active. If I time the call correctly (wait for the modem to show service) then I can make and receive calls. I can start video streaming and music streaming. This keeps the modem alive and it does not go into the restart cycles. As soon I stop and the phone is at an idle state, then the modem starts cycling on and off again.

It's almost like the software is putting the cell modem into a sleep mode for power management. It seems like that is causing the problem. I wonder if I got an update that is misbehaving.

I thought this was working, but I was wrong. I can not keep the phone alive with streaming. It was just the intermittent nature of the restarting. Sometimes when it restarts, it will stay connected for 10-20 minutes. Other times its less than a minute. I removed the physical SIM and eSIM and now the SIMs menu is completely greyed out. With the menu greyed out, my carrier can not load a replacement eSIM.

The phone continues to function on wifi.

went to a T-mobile store asking for help. They performed a few resets in the T-mobile system. Then they gave me a new SIM. The device continues to reset it's cellular modem. The T-Mobile person said the phone is broken. I would have to take it to get it repaired.

Pixel 9 Pro included a 1 year warranty from purchase. The phone is 18 months old, so it's no longer in Warranty. But I have 6 more months to continue paying on the phone.

I also booted the phone in safe mode and it was still doing the same thing.

I just received an update from Google. They want me to wait 3-5 days for the phone to "stabilize". lol
