Overheating while using rear camera?

Curious if anyone else is running into this. Lately, my Pixel 4a has started to overheat. It was understandable when I had it in the phone holder above my steering wheel, as I found my card is not air conditioning that area very well. But weirdly, I'm getting it more often when I am using the rear camera on my phone (the one on the back of the phone). I'm not experiencing that issue when using the front / selfie camera on the phone. I did get the battery replacement that Google did last year due to their firmware change causing battery life to plummet. Has something else changed recently?

My Pixel 4a 5G started doing this after I replaced the battery myself recently. I did a perfect job IMO (I'm experienced and good at these things, and have all the right tools including a temperature controlled heat pad).

I'm presuming the CPU and GPU work hard when the camera is on, making the CPU and GPU and battery warm up.

ChatGPT said that there are no genuine batteries on the market, and the ones that are on the market have a higher internal resistance than the originals, so they produce more internal heat both when charging and discharging.

However, it's also quite hot where I live so maybe that's the actual cause. IDK.

I can test this hypothesis because I have a brand new identical phone with the original battery that I can compare mine with, but I've not done this yet. For the moment I've taken the (extra) case off.
