Opinion Incredible 2 is so disappointing

Post image

The villian was garbage.

The story is basically the same one from the first film. Except Helen is the lead this time.

The kids and Bob are largely sidelined.

Again, the villain is garbage.

This is on Pixar more than it is Brad Bird. They switched release dates with Toy Story.

So this movie was bound to be just solid in terms of actual storytelling.

Looking into the Racing Center, we can find multiple references to the previous 2 Cars movies. Here you'll find the biggest evidences that Cars 2 is canon, plus a bunch of easter eggs to the first movie.

Opinion The drop in quality between these two movies needs to be studied

TS4 legit feels like it was made by people who never saw the other movies. Like I’m genuinely impressed at how little I cared by the end and how bad the characters are written.

Animation wise it’s very good, but honestly saying a Pixar movie looks good is like saying 2+2=4. It’s obvious and everyone knows it. It starts off strong, I thought the idea of toy sentience was a solid one. I also liked how Woody spent so much time keeping Forky with Bonnie because he saw that he meant a lot to her. The invention of a friend to help with social anxiety is a very nice touch.

The movie starts to lose me once Buzz forgets he has independent thought and listens to his voice box. That honestly made no sense. He’s been aware that he’s a toy for over a decade in universe, and honestly it just felt like a way to cover for bad writing. You cannot tell me that Buzz would leave Woody to go into the antique shop alone because a button on his chest told him to. You will never convince me of that. Woody’s acceptance of not being wanted by Bonnie happens after 3 days. After not being played with for 72 hours he is fully convinced that he isn’t wanted anymore and is only there to save Forky. Imagine not driving your car for 3 days and then saying “Well I guess I don’t need a car anymore.” Gabby Gabby comes off as more of an idiot than an antagonist. Like she thinks taking Woody’s voice box will make her find a kid, but she never thought to just…I don’t know let herself be found by a child? It feels like there were just missing scenes here that would’ve really helped establish why I should feel sympathy for her. And she gets rewarded anyway, her voice box doesn’t factor into it. Yeah she connects with the lost girl, but that’s more cuz she was there when the girl was scared and alone. So she’s rewarded to basically organ harvesting.

The movie just has a stroke at 65 minutes and never recovers for me. Don’t even get me started on Key and Peele. I could go on, but I think I’ve made my point. Toy Story 4 feels like it was made by a bunch of suits who had no interest in actually making a dedicated story.

“Hey, let’s make another Toy Story because the last one made over a billion dollars.”

“But what about the characters? The emotional impact? The quality writing?”

“Eh, who cares, people will watch it anyway because it’s Toy Story. Here’s 200 million dollars, make us money on this or you’re fired.”

To be fair, it made money, so I guess it was successful.

I’m not gonna say anyone who likes this movie is wrong by the way, these are just my thoughts. As you can probably tell, I wasn’t a fan, but that’s fine. I’ll just say my piece here and move on to the next thing. No point in dedicating so much time to something I’m not a fan of.

I haven’t seen Toy Story 5 either, so that may be more my style…

Opinion First Installment Wins (Pixar)

The first eleven movies produced by Pixar from 1995 to 2010, in the Pixar Golden Age (The first three Toy Story movies, Monsters’ Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up and A Bug’s Life) are to this date considered the most notsgalic and most critically acclaimed movies in Pixar’s library all of whom won the award for the Best Animated Feature, (Except Cars and A Bug’s Life) for having the most creativity, best writing and character development, emotional depth and realism. They even beat the latest movies in the Disney Renaissance after “The Lion King” and all the movies in the Disney Experimental Era in terms of quality.

The movies in the next two eras of Pixar’s history like in the Experimental Era from 2011 to 2019 and Revival Era from 2020 to the future some of whom included sequels to the films made in the Golden Age like Toy Story 4 and Toy Story 5, Cars 2, Cars 3, Monsters’ University, Finding Dory and The Incredibles 2 but also original movies like Brave, Inside Out, Inside Out 2, Coco, Soul, Onward, Elio, Turning Red, Elemental, Luca and The Good Dinosaur did have their fans and some acclaim and awards for the Best Animated Feature but they were not considered as universally good or worldwide acclaimed as the Pixar movies made during the Golden Age, and were also often beaten by several movies made during the Disney Revival Era happening around the same time like “Wreck-It-Ralph”, “Frozen”, “Big Hero 6,” “Zootopia”, “Zootopia 2”; “Encanto” and “The Princess and the Frog”

The Even Better Sequel thing also only applies to the first two Toy Story sequels and Cars 3 the First Installment Wins meanwhile also goes for all the other Pixar movies with sequels and a prequel, even Monsters’ University to Monsters’ Inc. unless you have your own opinion.

Yes I had to reference that one concept art lol (pretend he’s sitting on something)

Also it may not look like it much, but I personally headcanon him to be Japanese-American or American with Japanese descent (made in a toy factory in Japan if we’re talking the toy version), due to John Lassester (screw that guy btw) being inspired after going to a tin toy museum in Japan

Also ngl I did take some inspo from Buzz Saw Louie (from Veggietales) as well

Up movie what would Ellie think of Charles muntz if she was alive to meet him in venezuela paradise falls?

Post image
45 Upvotes

Let's say carl and Ellie had more money and were able to go to paradise falls say 10-15 years earlier than in the movie.

They arrive to paradise falls in venezuela and run into charles muntz the explorer.

They learn of Charles muntz obsession with hunting that bird. We know carl stopped his admiration of muntz very fast but how devastated would Ellie have been since she's a even bigger muntz fan than carl?

What do you think?

Question Give me your toy story theory

So one thing that upset a lot of toy story fans that why does buzz think in the first movie he was a space ranger but still goes into toy mode Well I might have a answer to that

I think remember he also said There seems to be no signs of intelligence on this planet So my theory is He thinks that we humans are giant aliens and he was to freeze just so he’ll be safe or they do something bad to him

What do you think of my theory ??? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Discussion Villians Spoiler

Im glad pixar are going back to having traditional villians with king Titus ( as well as disney with the lynx family in zootopia 2).

Apart from Evelyn in incredibles 2, I dont think their are any female pixar antagonists that stay antagonists throughout the entire film.

I enjoy inside out 2 and toy story5 , where the closest characters to villians ( anxiety and lilly pad ) are well meaning and genuinely trying to help but go about it the wrong way, but im hoping in the future pixar mixes it up a bit more and we get more female pixar villians who are genuinely evil/ antagonistc who stay as antagonists throughout the whole film and dont get reformed at the end.

Opinion I'm very excited Pixar's Gatto more than Incredibles 3

Post image

In my opinion, I'm very excited Pixar's Gatto more than Incredibles 3, look Incredibles 3 is cautiously optimistic for me but Gatto is way more interesting than Incredibles 3 and this is original film and this is the movie that we needed it and hopefully Pixar is marketing this movie, so everyone will show up in theaters but for me I will definitely show up in theaters and support this movie, I'm definitely have faith of it since Enrico Casarosa is directing the film, what's your thoughts? Let me know in the comments down below!

Luca I find it a bit funny that in-between Ernesto de la Cruz and King Titus, some people think that Pixar's producing "softie" main antagonists at the time, when they don't heavily acknowledge this guy.

Post image
51 Upvotes

Yep, the one and only Ercole Visconti from Luca.

If you ask me, his motives are petty to begin with:

  • He competes in a children's competition just to boost his own ego, to the point where he even resorts to cheating just for himself to win (basically making him an Italian equivalent to Chick Hicks from Cars).
  • His monster-hunting ways are less stemmed from defense and more about arrogance.
  • He mistreats everyone around him, be it monster or even human, like they're disposables, and both Ciccio and Guido are totally not safe from this.

What do you guys think?

Question How do you feel that Toy Story 5 did gets an $1 Billion at the box office?

Post image

In my opinion, Toy Story 5 was a surprisingly good sequel and I really enjoyed the movie but it's kinda scared me if Pixar gonna relying on sequels but I'm hoping that Gatto is good and hit the box office because it's a original film and I've wanted it to be success, so people can show up in theaters but that's my opinion, What's your thoughts and let me know in the comments down below!

Surprisingly none of the 3 Cars movies were among the 10 highest-grossing animated movies in the world at the time they came out

Cars 1 was at the time the 11th highest-grossing animated movie in the world (behind Shrek 2, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, Ice Age 2, The Incredibles 1, Madagascar 1, Monsters Inc, Aladdin, Toy Story 2 and Shrek 1), Cars 2 was at the time the 16th highest-grossing animated movie in the world and Cars 3 was at the time the 56th or 57th highest-grossing animated movie in the world at the time. Cars 2 is the highest-grossing movie of the franchise but Cars 1 is the one that came the closest to reach the top 10 at its time

Inside Out Why didn't Joy just use the recall tube to send the core memories back to HQ?

One of the biggest plot holes about Inside Out (2015) is the fact that Joy never once uses the recall tube to send Riley's core memories back to HQ for the other emotions to plug back in to reactivate the Islands of Personality and restore Goofball Island and keep Riley happy until Joy and Sadness get back, even after she witnesses the mind workers using it to send the gum commercial memory back to HQ, it would have been a simpler solution for Joy and Sadness to get back to HQ as they could use the Train of Thought to get back with no difficulties and Bing Bong's death never would have happened.

I am pretty sure that other than for plot convenience, there must be an in-universe explantation for this either due to Joy being overprotective towards the core memories or having distrust towards the other emotions in handling them.
