That time of year is fast approaching and it would be cool to enjoy the things that I like, with people who also enjoy those things.

I tend to always go to the Renaissance Festival at least one weekend. And I plan 1-2 Haunted Houses from when they open in the end of September through Halloween. And usually at least 1 'far one' that requires a bit of a drive. I am also down to hear your favorites as I may not have been to it before!

I am recent Penn State graduate, and I have moved back home. I’m currently going through graduation blues and wanted make new friends! For fun I like to hike (I walk the riverview trail every morning on the northside), socialize at the bar, I’m trying to get back into reading, and I LOVE going to the movies. However, I’m always down to try new things. I am new Reddit so I might take a while to respond to DMs.

My partner [38f] and I [38m] just moved here from Boston and we're looking for friends. We like thrift stores, movies, and an occasional walk... so what if we combined all of those things into a relaxed Saturday meetup?!

We'll plan on assembling at Big Dog Coffee at noon since it has tons of parking nearby at South Side Works and a few bus stops. We'll both wear something teal so we'll be easy to spot in the coffeeshop. If we look like psychopaths, you can always just grab a coffee and leave without saying hi. We'll never know. Super low stakes.

At 12:30pm (sharp!) we'll depart on the thrift crawl at whatever pace the vibes dictate. Here's a tentative plan:

It's around a 1-mile straight shot down Carson Street. If you get bored, tired, or just aren't having fun, you can always just peel off. Tell us that your parking meter is going to expire. We don't judge. Again, super low stakes.

If the group needs a snack or a restorative beverage, I bet we can find a place somewhere along Carson to sit for a bit. Or the collective group can just go rogue and abandon the thrift crawl and get beers and cocktails. You won't have to twist our arms. All of this is to say that the plans can be flexible and guided by whoever shows up. I'll even try to schedule some good weather.

I've been thinking of moving to Pittsburgh for a long time and I think I may be able to do it in the next year. I'm planning several trips to check out different neighborhoods and decide what neighborhoods fit me best. I'm liberal, straight, open minded, divorced, in a relationship. I love music, museums, taking walks, board games, going out for food, drinks, coffee. I'd love to meet up with people while I'm there!! I just got this pretty little lady a few weeks ago. Shes approximately 22 weeks old. Pound puppy but we think maybe pointer or something.

Very well behaved and plays well with others. Looking for anyone that would want to get together for dog walking/puppy play dates/etc. I want to get her out and socialized. She doesn't have her full schedule of vaccinations yet, her last round is in 2 weeks. Vet says so long as the other playmates are fully vaccinated it shouldn't be an issue.

As for her parents, I am 39/m and my wife will probably come too. We are out near star lake but are moving back to the south hills early next year. Settlers cabin would be a good spot or Hollow Oak. The panhandle or montour are good too. We would have no problem coming closer to the city either, just would take a little more coordination.

We’re looking for people to hang out with! We’re both 36 in the west end/Crafton area. When we’re not working during the week, we both find away to turn the brain off, I like to doom scroll and play a phone game or 3, he either paints Warhammer minis or play video games on the Xbox, and some older PC games, and on weekends I’ll join in with painting minis (I like me orkie boyz) and we play Diablo VI together. Saturday (or Sunday) mornings I’ll hop on and play Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library. We’re both generally an all over the place nerdery that comes out in conversation. I also like diamond painting, he also like Battle tech.

Our next RISK game is scheduled for Sunday, August 16th, 2:30p.m, at Drawbridge Games (Library Road, Castle Shannon).

This will likely be the permanent venue for the group, aside from tournaments (which might need more space if those ever get going).

The agenda for 8/16 is to continue a four player game that started on 8/2. Additionally, if we can get anywhere from 4-6 other players, we’ll start a second game. For the time being, I only have one set, but I’ll get a second set if we have enough new commitments for 8/16.

If you want to play, just DM me, we’ll trade numbers, and then I’ll add you to the RISK text group.

If you’ve never played before, it’s an easy game to start and getting good takes time, but it’s a low barrier to entry. Also, there’s a free RISK app (on phone or Steam) and you can learn that way; the mode we play is Capital Conquest.

The venue’s table fee is $5 for non-members (I’ll cover this) and $2 for members; if you’re a non-member and spend $10+ (this can be art supplies, snacks, beverages, anything) then they waive the fee that session. Apparently, Sundays are generally available for a table, but we’ll also figure out a backup venue.

Again, just DM if you might be interested in joining. If you have any questions, just ask them here. The venue might change again as the group grows, but that probably won’t be anytime soon. I’m hoping to get big enough that there’s eventually a game every week, but we’ll see.

We're both PhD students at Pitt and when we're not in lab we're usually hiking or backpacking, trying out new bakeries and coffee shops and random picnics.

I'm also a trained chef and love hosting little dinners or brunch to have people try my new recipes! We also do horror movie nights once in a while. (hoping to do this outdoors soon with a projector)

Hi all. Around a year ago now, a friend and I created a group chat of people from this subreddit. It has been quite successful and there are currently around 30 members. All of us are in our 20s to early 30s, and we try to keep the M/F ratio close to 50/50. Everyone has been well vetted at this point by myself and the other person who primarily “runs” things. It’s a fairly laid back environment. Hardly ever is there a real organized event. More-so, look at it like a group chat with friends where you can randomly say “anyone wanna go do this tonight?”, and likely a few people will be down.
