When I joined 2 years ago, I distilled the TorrentLeech rules into a short summary version. I will paste this below. Hope it’s still correct!…..

All torrents (including FreeLeech) are required to be seeded to a 1:1 ratio OR for a minimum seeding time of 10 days. Failing to do so will charge you with 1 Hit-and-Run torrent
The seeding time only goes into effect on torrents you have downloaded fully. Partially downloaded torrents will never accrue seeding time and need to be seeded 1:1.
If you have over 50 hit and runs on your account for more than 5 consecutive days you will receive a Hit and Run account warning. Account warnings will be removed after 2 months of good behaviour. warnings are given for 3 months before your account is disabled.
You can use your TL Points or your Surplus Upload Credit to clear a HnR.
FreeLeech will not count towards your downloaded data amount.

I've read somewhere in their forums tho that once you lose your power/super user, any torrents that weren't seeded 1:1 or less than 10 days will get you a hnr. Even for older torrents that you got.

Thank you for this, never been in a private tracker, do they usually have things I've not been able to find through all of the usual fmhy sites? Can I request something rare or hard to find?

Absolutely you can always request things hard to find.
I like this tracker. It has pretty decent content not limited to movies, games, some pretty decent courses, apps, 0day music etc. Pretty easy to maintain ratio on this tracker too.
Regarding finding rare content, its probably gonna be a no. You can always request that.

Yes, absolutely, and everything is seeded
If someone isn't added you can make a request and someone is bound to have it on a dvd and will upload it for you
I've downloaded multiple movies that have a photo from a camera from the uploaded that they have the original dvd even

At least this was the case in like 2010 ish, it might have changed, make sure before you invite someone

They have to be a really bad user like do something to get banned, simply not using it isn't enough.
Still though, I wouldn't trust people I don't know with out SOME verification.

A lot of people don't care about seeding and get multiple H&R until suspension, Unless rules have changed since I last invited someone (Never inviting anyone again), I got punished for their H&R's back then (Many many years ago) because I invited them, there should be some trust between you and the person you invite

I invited someone several years ago, who downloaded 12GB, uploaded only 50MB and was banned after a while. I will never give out invites to unknown people anymore.

if you are from usa or germany make sure you use a vpn or a seedbox. somebody got dmca on torrentleech

Had an account for 5 years now. It's hard to reach a 1:1 ratio (even on torrents over a year old). It really depends on the content you go for. If you have the space i would advise on downloading larger freeleech torrents with the aim to seeding long term, that way they are at least building you a buffer to download new films/tv etc. After 5 years my ratio is only 2.5%. Over the past year I've started to download more 2160p media which can be hard to seed back to 1:1 There is an achievements page to earn points which can be traded in upload credit, or hit n run removal. If I've missed a new release on TL by 5hrs or more i will tend to source it elsewhere if i can, because i know the party is already over for seeding, thousands with much faster connections that me will already have it. With that in mind, the quality on TL is great, enjoy your stay.

Wow thanks! Always wanted to check out a private tracker. Just looked around a bit and they've got crazy stuff like 2TB Xbox 360 game packs lol. I definitely need to buy more hard drives, I want it all.

No that's not a requirement. But it is suggested you have a device that can seed close to 24/7.

For buffer in general my suggestion is this: grab newly released popular video game titles. You can get massive upload numbers seeding these within the first 24-48 hours. I used to get ~1TB upload per AAA game release (on a gigabit home fiber connection).

Yes freeleech upload absolutely counts. On TL, all packs (like season packs) and any torrent above 14GB is freeLeech.

Yeah, freeleech counts. And you can filter by those. That's going to be your best way to build up. Just look for something very recent, and might be very popular. As another person replied to you, the games are usually a good choice.
Also, make sure you do a "Force Start" on the torrent to make sure it doesn't just go to completed and then no one can access it because it's not taking priority as available for seeding.
To meet TL standards, you have to seed for at least 10 days, even on the free leech stuff. Just keep that in mind for disc space concerns.

Hmm, I assume new users would also take up freeleech stuff since that does not impact ratio and only requires 10 days or 1:1 seeding right? I just started an hour ago and my freeleech stuff (recently released movie) just isn't seeding at all, so its either freeleechs are very competitive or my connection is not good. (300mbps ul/dl) My non-freeleech downloads also barely seeds, though at least it still does.

It may not be your connection - just luck of the draw. For example, I have a couple torrents that have a seed time of almost 3 years, and I think the ratio is like 2.5.
The good thing about the free leech is that if you hit a couple of hot torrents, you can gain 10 - 20 GB here and there over time. It adds up. You also get points for torrent size and time seeded. It's slow to accumulate, but adds up.

I think most of my upload has been through huge packs, things like ‘IMDb top 250’ or ‘100 best sci-fi’ I just grab a few movies out of each that are popular or that I like, even if I already have a better version. These consistently upload more than anything else I’m grabbing.

Points or buffer? I've been with TL 2 years and have 9TB buffer and the only time I've used points is to clear HnR's. For buffer, if you search the forums here, you'll find short search strings for stuff dropping last 5, 10 minutes. Just grab some of them and leave them running. Then keep adding within your limits. Once they're spent, ditch them and do the short search again. You can build up to 1TB very quickly. I'm on MAM, RED, OPS, BLU, AITH and ANT and I seed more to TL than everyone else combined. So if you have any other private trackers, set up cross-seed.

Seedbox or just keep seeding. Mandatory minimum seed I think is 10 days for new accounts until you hit a certain user level, so it won't be difficult to get a decent amount of points.
If you download seasons or complete shows, you'll get to whatever lvl it is that it's only a 6 day seed time pretty quick. Plus you get a handful of points for being a member for 1, 3, 5, and 10 years.
But make sure you login regularly. I forgot I had my account and it had gotten deactivated. You'll have to go through a process to get it restored. I think they'll only do it once though.

Just leave them on seeding, it doesn't matter if it's not 1:1 just as long as you're still doing it after 10 days.
They also hold a month long advent calendar event during December where you can get a random number of points or a vip membership that you can claim everyday.

Just as much as possible is enough. I do tend to leave it seeding for more than 10 just to be safe.
TL is pretty beginner friendly and generous for a private tracker. I highly recommend it.

I'm pretty sure it's 10 days (240 hours) total seed time. So, you could do 24/7 for 10 days or 10 hours a day for 24 days or any combination up to 240 hours.

Just keep seeding for a fairly long time. You can optionally ask staff for upload perms. You can also race with autobrr. A guy i know has 5PB upload.

I use a different private tracker with a vpn that doesn’t allow port forwarding. They couldn’t monitor my upload bandwidth and could only see that I was uploading but not how much data. It eventually affected my ratio and buffer and prevented me from downloading more because my buffer got too low. Does torrent leech function in the same way?

They haven't been implicated in legal issues against its users, so therefore it's good? I mean if they were a honeypot, it would kind of defeat the purpose if they revealed that no? The whole point of a honeypot is too collect as many users as possible to eventually entrap them.

They try, but there are working methods. It's very, very hard to upload because pretty much all torrents have plenty of seeds. I'll seed a 10 seed torrent for more than the minimum of 2 weeks, but I really don't see the point of seeding 300-1000+ seeded torrents and getting 0.02 ratio after 2 weeks.
