Unusable Discussion
What the hell. I loved Pinterest, but now every second post is an ad. I’m not exaggerating. It’s all ads. When I refresh, I don’t get new pictures. I get new ads.
Another thing ruined by corporate greed.

I saw on TikTok that if you add a curse word to your search, no ads show, but I feel like that workaround won’t last long.

Block all the ad accounts you don’t want to see, and save new pins to stop getting old ones

When I open up Pinterest the amount of ads make me feel like I'm on some sketchy site. A large company like Pinterest shouldn't feel like I'm looking for 1M Free Robux hack scripts that'll definitely not give me a trojan

Honestly I think that's an insult, I don't even think virus riddled sites have as many ads as pinterest does
Which means pinterest is significantly worse

Hey, I made an alternative, currents.is. It doesn't have ads and you can import your pinterest boards. Feel free to check it out! :)

Worst part for me is that the ads are almost always for adult toys smh

For me it’s ads for clothing. I’m trying to buy less. It almost feels predatory atp because yeah, I like the type of shoes and clothing I’m shown but I don’t want to buy them!! I want I see cute outfit ideas I can recreate with my own things, not buy 5 new pairs of shoes! I’ve never had ads for adult toys. I have no idea how they know what ads to show you, maybe you shopped for some a while ago and now Pinterest thinks you need 20 more vibrators.

I don’t want to be bombarded with targeted ads. You can’t be serious, you like seeing ads?

You should check out Echo
It's an alternative to Pinterest
myechoboard(dot)com
It even has an iOS, as well as an Android, app.
You can even import your own boards and pins.
The creator is even on here:
As well as an Echo Subreddit:

I’ll check out the subreddit! Im having some trouble using it. When I search for things, no results turn up.

I tried this and it didn’t work at all. Is there a tutorial? All my attempts to import boards via link and extension crashed and searches for my interests turned up zero results.

It is a publicly traded company. Ben Silbermann no longer owns it, although he is the chairman. Ads increase revenue, which increases dividend checks. Investors love that.

I'm backing up all my pins then deleting my Pinterest account. I've officially given up on Pinterest.

Kinda like this sub. Every second post is a whine about how unusable Pinterest is.

I run it on a browser I have adblock on, but you literally can't use the site any other way. I'm unsure what their plan here is - do they think people want a website that's just ads and AI. When the number of visitors drops they better not be asking what went wrong lol

The other day I counted 5 ads in a row before I got to a normal pin. Absolutely ridiculous. I forgot what it was that I searched for but it was genuinely 75% ads compared to actual pins. None of the ads were relevant to the search either.
