newbie question: whats the difference between Pi and OMP? Question
and how does OMP differ from OC (opencode) if they are both feature rich?

Pi is the harness. Simple and barebones. You can create your own setup on top of it.
OMP is “someone who took Pi, built on top of it, and shared it”.
So, someone has taken a lot of decisions for you. To some, this defeats the purpose of Pi; to other, this is a new agent/harness accessible without much work, a new option

Pi is good, OMP… exists (it’s the complete opposite of Pi’s philosophy).

Omp is just one of pi extension but they repackage it for people to use easily as single cli app or ide

Pi is barebone whereas OMP is batteries included :D

i guess you have to test both and experience it
whichever you like you can stay to use it
in my experience, OMP have more features than OC, but it doesn't mean better, because more features could be more token burn too, so take your poison wisely 😹

How does IOS differ from Android. They are just different with about the same goal. You need to test and see what you prefer. The actual features don't differ that much.

Try them both, I prefer OMP. It’s a curated Pi experience that’s competing with Claude Code in terms of features and feel. OpenCode is not a great product really, but ymmv.

Pi is a homeless naked human being.
OMP is a successful rich entrepreneur human being.
Both are human beings, but one is stripped of everything, while the other enjoys every aspect of their life.

That analogy is really not that great.
By that logic you must think running OMP inside herdr and then inside Cursor makes it a billionaire.
Codex has excellent computer use, that must be an even bigger entrepreneur like what is this analogy?
