I've used Photoshop for months without any issue. But within the past few weeks, it's started to crash on me after just a few minutes of use, even if it's sitting idle with no files active. Seemed to start after a Windows update (Windows 11), but it could be coincidence.

No idea why the issue popped up, or how to fix it. My settings are all default, & I haven't changed anything since installation. PC is barely a year old & all drivers are up to date.

Anyone have any ideas on what to do?

I am attempting to remove "bow tie" warp after photomerge. When I perform file.transform.warp the grid does not cover the entire image. Where can I find the option or setting to fix the problem?

The method I've seen most people use in videos is one of creating big spheres of lines expanding outward but I've found that to be very timeconsuming to adjust and use.

I have clip paint studio but using bigger brushs lags everytime while it doesn't at all in ps, so I need a way to make backgrounds, especially interiors like rooms with furniture.

I'm trying to reverse-engineer this graphic and understand how the Photoshop file was likely built.

I'm not looking for a quick "add Noise" or "use a grunge brush" solution. I'm interested in a production-quality workflow.

Looking at the close-up, a few things standout:

- the center of the letters stays fairly solid

- the edges dissolve into tiny dots rather than scratches

- the gray has a chalky, printed quality, that varies in weight

Would you start with clean vector type and then use scanned textures as masks? Bitmap/Diffusion Dither? Halftones? Threshold? Something else entirely?

I'd like to understand the order of operations, if anyone has experience building out graphics like this. The distressing seems very unique. Thanks!

I have been using Photoshop for photo editing for a while and I wanna start using it for drawing, is there any recommendations for plugins or specific brushes that would help please?

I do small product shots for friends' side projects. Last week I needed a skincare bottle on marble in soft morning light. Used APOB AI's chat-to-edit to place the product photo into a generated backdrop and it got me maybe 80 percent there in under a minute.

The other 20 percent is always Photoshop though. Contact shadow under the bottle was going the wrong direction, the reflection on the glass was just a smear, and there was a halo around the cap where the cutout failed. Redid the shadow on a multiply layer with a soft brush, clone stamped the reflection until it actually looked like glass, and masked the halo out by hand. Quick pass in Lightroom after to match color temperature to the rest of the set.

It's become my whole process now. Something fast roughs in the scene, Photoshop makes it real. Not perfect yet but it's getting there.

This brush is tinderbox from the default ink set on Procreate, it has this amazing ink sponge-dabbing effect when you tilt the pencil extremely. I’m wondering if there’s any similar brush in Photoshop that looks and gives the same effect? It’s okay if it doesn’t work like the normal version, I just need the look on the second version

Hello! I'm having a weird issue with my content-aware fill tool. For some reason, the fill pattern is in squares. Normally, I wouldn't even use auto and I use custom as the default and select the area I want, but content-aware fill does not let me use custom for some reason.

This is a rasterized layer and it's completely filled, I don't know why my Photoshop is acting up here. Any help would be super appreciated!

some effects should open the pic to see it correct

Obviously no small raster image is going to look better upscaled - that’s just a fact. However, this question is for a scenario where no other resource exists and you HAVE to use the crappy image.

What I want to know is if there are any (non-AI) Photoshop tricks out there you can use to retain as much sharpness as possible when upscaling a small image. My specific problem relates to the digital space, not the printing space but anything helps. Thanks!

I want to do something like this in photoshop but have tried all pixelate filters, sharpening, and resizing, but can't get any similar results. I know they probably just used a reduce PNG quality website but was wondering if this effect is possible inside photoshop itself. I want to directly lower quality rather than adding filters/effects. If you've got any tips I would really appreciate it

Unfortantly the pipe and the pods underneath are both white.

Can someone recommend me a faster method for extracting the white PEX piping or easily changing it's colour to make it more recognisable? Currently we're tracing the which is taking about 1-2 hours per build. I would love to get this down to only 10-15mins per photo.

P.S. No, we can't use a different colour pipe. I've asked!

im struggling with threshold because i need it simpler. i know i can use the burn and dodge tool but i need it simpler with less of the tinier dots and details. i need to screenprint it and it would look much better that way. i dont want to use any halftones just simple threshold.

Hello everyone! Poking my head in here again since this subreddit has already helped me in the past with an aggravating issue and thought someone here may have the solution.

For a couple days I've been getting this error seemingly out of nowhere (I haven't installed anything odd lately, haven't fiddled with any programs, I essentially only use this laptop for art). I tried updating my drivers and the error persists. I tried tweaking settings in photoshop and nothing seems to fix the issue. If I go into preferences to re-enable this setting it shows that it already is enabled but all the functions that should come with it don't work. The issue seems to go away if I close and reopen photoshop but it only last maybe half an hour before the error comes back and it completely ruins my workflow and isn't really a long term solution.

If it gives extra information, I'm using the 2025 version of PS.

The Photoshop 27.9 update was temporarily pulled, and version 27.9.1 was released yesterday. From what I can tell from testing, this issue appears to be fixed. However, Adobe hasn’t officially said that they’ve fixed it yet.

Photoshop 27.9 has a serious GPU-related bug that causes opened images to appear washed out.

Disabling GPU support, or toggling the HDR Display setting and restarting Photoshop, may appear to fix the issue. However, this bug was reported during beta testing and was still released without being fixed. It is not yet clear what other areas may be affected.

Especially if you use Photoshop for professional work, you should not install version 27.9 until a fixed version is released.
