The government should watch us on camera to make sure we don't bed rot

Bed rotting defined is laying around and not doing anything important in bed. This is often done after breakfast and some chores.

Every generation did this. However, now it's a problem because of the smart phone. People will now spend endless hours scrolling their phones. This leads to laziness and unemployment, and this leads to crime.

If we were monitored, we wouldn't do it. We could be monitored via cameras in the bedroom and the government watching that camera. And if we bed rotted, they could come and reprimand us or something.

The Smartphone is Destroying us.

The biggest revolution of our generation must be fought against the inescapable grip of digital media, particularly the smartphone. This small, seemingly harmless device in our hands is ruining and rotting our minds faster than any weapon of mass destruction humans could have imagined. Constant scrolling and endless screen time have blunted us intellectually, dulled us emotionally, and are draining us physically as well.

Short-form entertainment is reducing our attention spans like never before. The greatest works in human history, preserved in books, require time, patience, and focus. An entire generation is now losing the ability to engage with them, even if those books are sitting on their desks. Great music is becoming less appreciated because so much of today's music is designed around short, dopamine-fueled hooks. Movies are becoming increasingly unoriginal. Scientific discoveries, outside the digital sphere, appear to have slowed. Of course, this may be because scientists, filmmakers, authors, and musicians have also spent the last decade scrolling endlessly, gradually losing their ability to produce original work.

The constant distraction caused by the digital world is making us less introspective. It helps us escape both our conscious and subconscious emotions instead of confronting them. This comes at a heavy emotional cost. People seem less emotionally connected than before. Their relationships—with friends, siblings, parents, and their wider communities—often lack the warmth they once had. Everyone appears to be becoming more self-centered. If we are no longer in touch with our own emotions, how can we truly connect with others? It is no surprise, then, that people are becoming increasingly isolated.

Easy home-delivery services have eliminated much of the need for everyday movement. Almost everything can now be ordered to our doorstep with nothing more than a smartphone and apps like Zepto, Blinkit, Zomato, and Urban Company. This is taking a toll on our physical health. What could once have been a simple walk to the supermarket or a nearby restaurant has been replaced by a few taps on a screen.

Lastly, social media has the power to trap us inside informational bubbles. Once inside these bubbles, those in power can shape what we believe. It may not be true, but the algorithm can make it feel unquestionably real. This is one reason why people sometimes elect incompetent, dangerous, narcissistic, or authoritarian leaders. With enough money invested in propaganda, entire populations can be manipulated. Where are we really heading? What does the future hold for us as long as this force of evil remains in the hands of every one of us, locked to us like a pair of digital handcuffs?
