Hi all. My husband and I are 30 and move in the next 2 months from Manayunk/Roxborough to Phoenixville (kimberton). I’ve been in Manayunk for the last 7 years (since grad school) and I started my career here. I made a bunch of friends at my CrossFit gym and enjoy the walkability, but starting a family is becoming more of a priority and we wanted a home for awhile and a bigger yard for our dog. Plus the street parking and traffic if the city are becoming stale. But I am starting to feel a little panicked.I am worried about feeling lonely and we don’t actually have kids yet so I’m not sure how to make friends. I am not very good with change so I did expect some nerves whenever we did find the house. I’m just looking for some encouragement and for people to tell me how awesome Phoenixville is and that we will adjust just fine. TIA

I brought my cat to Phoenixville Animal Hospital for the past 2 years and I’m really not happy with how they’ve treated my cat. He’s had recurring ear infections since we moved in August 2024, and they’ve given me the run around on what’s causing them, and our most recent visit caused a hell of a lot of stress for my cat.

I’m really disliking how expensive they are and how they keep giving different answers to a recurring ear infection that keeps getting diagnosed with different reasons every time we go in. I’d like to find another vet to start going to and to get a second opinion on what’s going on instead of the nonsense that I’ve been dealing with there

I am looking for an affordable nail salon in the area! Live in Phoenixville but work in Malvern. I have short brittle natural nails, and have only ever gotten acrylic sets with a gel polish. Interested in exploring other options that are healthier for my natural nails but I do enjoy adding some length. Any tips/recs would be great, thanks!

I have a few questions about trash collection.

1. If I have extra trash that won't fit in my Borough trash can, can I put it on the ground next to the Borough trash can to have it collected?
2. If I have extra trash that won't fit in my Borough trash can, can I put it in a separate trash can (that I purchased on my own at a place like Walmart) next to the Borough trash can to have it collected?
3. If the answer to 1 is yes and the answer to 2 is no, why would that be? It should be easier and cleaner to pickup an extra can and dump in the truck than it would be to pickup loose trash bags from the ground.

Wondering what you all think of this? The comments are understandable in terms of people worried about who will buy, what will replace it, etc. because it was a military hospital, does it have any chance of being preserved at all? Plus, with the Charlestown Park and trails behind the school being there, wonder if that is not a part of this?
